Just bought a 2019 Honda Pioneer 700-4. https://www.hwpowersports.net/inventory/v1/Current/Honda/Utility-Vehicle/RecUtility/2019-Pioneer-700-4/Deluxe--Texarkana-Texas---10556261

I traded in a 2011 Yamaha Grizzly 450 EPS.

I wasn't planning on buying a new side by side but it seemed like new vs used wasn't a big difference in price.

I test drove both the Yamaha Wolverine and Honda Pioneer utility vehicle and I was surprised at how much better the suspension and ride of the Honda was compared to the Yamaha. The Yamaha had more bells and whistles but was a bit more harsh in the ride.

The Honda has a hard plastic bed vs the metal bed of the Yamaha. I like the option of converting from the dump bed to two extra seats if needed.

I bought one in 2014 when they first came out and just didn稚 like the gearing. Only a three speed with torque converter. Way to high of first gear for in the steep mountains where I was using it. Other than that I liked it. Got the 2016 Pioneer 1000 5 as soon as it came out. Much better for the steep country.

I would love to hear how you like it after a few hours. I have pretty much narrowed my side by side search to the 700-4 but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

I like it even more after about 20 hrs on it.
I plan on putting a hard top, front scratch resistant windshield, and rear view mirrors on it in the future.
The guy at the Honda dealership said they recommend valve adjustment after 20 hrs?

Yep. It's in the owner's manual. It's not difficult. The shop manual is excellent. So far the only overly difficult maintenance item I've run into is the oil filter, which is fiddly and possible to get wrong and damage the engine. My 2016 700-2 likes fresh oil. The transmission gets a little sluggish when it's approaching oil change time (the engine and trans share oil and in Honda tradition there is not much of it). When I have used up my stock of Honda conventional oil I may try synthetic. Mine makes a lot of short trips around our place which is probably harder on the oil than using it as a sport vehicle.

Well, within 4 days my 12 y.o. daughter managed to run the Honda into a tree. Insurance will cover it with a $250 deductible.

I dropped it off at a Cycle shop and will be getting an estimate soon. Most likely frame damage.

Didn't they recommend limited operating by people younger than 16?

"SxS / UTVs ARE ONLY FOR DRIVERS 16 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER."

I hope she's OK. I would be afraid to let a young kid drive one of these. Heck, I've seen adults get hurt real bad in them.
