Hydrostat inlet filters are far different animals than engine oil filters and considerably more expensive to manufacture.
I'll stick with OEM, warranty or otherwise.

It may be there in the fine print or product details but I do not see that specific Wix filter crossing to/from the Kubota filter. The Wix says "automotive." Just because it fits (threads and diameter of the rubber seal area) does not mean it is an "equivalent" filter. There are specs like the fine particle size the filter catches, etc. that should be considered. I'm no great booster of needlessly high priced tractor-brand filters but one does need to check the basics if deciding to wander into 3rd party filters.

The Messick's price of $44 (in one of the other posts) looks pretty darned good to me, staying with the mfr brand. Not quite apples and apples but for price reference on hydraulic return filters: My MF 2660 filter in the MF brand at a dealer was $72 and pushed close to $80 with tax, etc. It crossed to a NAPA filter (clearly made for hydraulic return filtering) which was $68. I just put one in 2 weeks ago. So your Kubota branded filter at $67 sounds like the going rate to me. By the way, I trust NAPA filters 100% with no hesitancy at all, under guarantee or not. That is if and only if the crossover book clearly shows them equivalent. Finding some engine oil filter that might physically fit is the very wrong thing to do.

Alright. I've been talked into the Kubota filters. Especially since Messicks price is fairly reasonable.
It looks like this filter kit would work for my L3301 even though it doesn't specify it. I wish Messicks site would allow you to search under model number and then give you parts list.

Been buying Kubota filter sets from eBay at a good price B26 and M59. Sometimes the dealer will match price. Interesting note: the last full service filter and fluid and filter change for the M59 it was cheaper for the dealer to pickup/return the tractor change filters and fluids than I can do myself. This was during the winter months.

Wow! The dealer must be paying you to pickup the tractor. At least in the locations I know about, dealer transport pickup/delivery would cost well over $100 each way.

For the past several years the Knoxville Tennessee Kubota dealer has had a special during the slow winter months. Waive the transport free, save 10% on parts. The biggest savings is bulk super UDT vs buying in jugs.

Try to resist the Wix/Napa filters. They're not the same. Here's the Kubota high pressure filter for a Kubota L3940.
Here's the high pressure filter from WIX/Napa. They took another filter and screwed an adapter onto it to make it work.
As for the low pressure filter, the magnet will not fit into the recess of a WIX/Napa for an L3940. Our son gets a very good discount at Napa with his Fleet discount card but still will not use their hydro filters. He does however use their engine oil filters along with Rotella T4 15W-40

Good luck trying to find the exact oil filter and HST transmission filter for your tractor. Called Messicks and then cross referenced with Amazon to make sure.
