Beer, whats yours?

I used to like my beer cold and cheap. Drank Hammç—´ for years. But was as I got older, I started to explore different beers.

Now I am a full fledged beer snob......sigh.

Since I have traveled a lot throughout the world....I make it a point to try local beers. The micro brew thing has been great. I get to try a wide variety of beers when traveling.

My favorite styles are stouts & porters. Though I can barely drink a Guinness. There are a lot of amazing stouts to try. But during warm weather, I tend to go for lagers, pils, and IPAç—´.

A small local brewery called Wooly Pig makes Hoppy Pils which is an amazing warm weather beer for me. Easy drinking and refreshing.

And I usually have Brew Kettle痴 White Rajah in my fridge this time of year. An intense American IPA isn稚 for everyone.....but I quite enjoy it

And I still buy Hamm’s for a mowing beer

Has anyone tried the Belgian Trappist beers, they are absolutely brilliant, unfortunately also very expensive at around AU$10-15 for a 330ml, I have had them but not often.

The neighbor had a beer tasting party and a couple were Belgian Trappist beers. I agree, they were very good, if i remember correctly. :)

That has to be pretty sentimental. I have a pocketknife that I've had since I was 6-7. I have a few things that my dad had during WWII. And a few things from both of my grandpas' and even a great grandpa. I keep them all together. Kinda ties the guys in our family together. Sometimes I just pick them up and think about those guys.

Yep, I remember those church keys. When I first landed in Viet Nam, there were no pull tab beers and it just seemed to be that it would be awful to have a couple of beers and no way to open them, but I do remember that sharp point poking into my chest while hitting the dirt, then poking my leg when I tried carrying it in my pants pocket.

I thanked the genius that came up with the pull tops when I first saw them.

I've still got the P-38 can opener I carried while I was over there.

A P-38 is a remarkable tool. I've got mine too. Opened many C-Ration cans with it.

Poke a hole in a pound cake can. Add a few drops of water. Heat it over a chunk of sterno. Tastes like its fresh out of the oven!!!!

I love German\Belgian beer, mostly from Southern Germany like Bavaria-Munich. Around the house I drink Corona Extra\Light and my current favorite local Micro Brew is Maine Beer Company's Peeper beer. I hate any beer that taste like water(Budweiser, Pabst) but even more so beer that taste too bitter or sour.
I love Brazilian beer like Bramha Chopp :)

My best beer was once when we did a lot of SCUBA we found some bottles that were dropped from somebody's boat when he transferred things from his boat to the dock.
SCUBA always makes U thirsty for some reason.

Well those bottles were deep enough to be cooled just right and also the sunlight did not get to them.
As a dare we popped them open and man did they hit the spot.

(We knew the owner of that property had moved 5-6 years earlier so that kind of dated our find.)

Now it sure is funny to see a diver, under water, sipping a cool one. (that was my son)
