I'm a newbie so if this is a dumb question please be easy on me. I am used to the 3 point lift control on older tractors being set at a certain point with stops. So How do you always attain the same depth setting on the new tractors? It is like an on/off switch it goes down till you let off the control. I purchased a rotary cutter instead of the mid mount mower and if I lift it to make a sharp turn it is impossible to get it set to the same depth.

Unfortunately, that's not a thing on GC series tractors. It's one of the drawback of SCUT's in general. There's also no down pressure from your 3pt system. The weight of your implements is what creates downward force. The best you can do is limit your flow control valve so the drop rate isn't too quick. (Black dial under your right thigh)

Pretty much...

My solution was to add check/limit chained to control implement height...

Where do you pin your chain at? Top link on tractor to lower arms?

I drilled sub frame at top and used homemade tab with hole and custom set of chains and used as "threaded link" at top to adjust length and used "U" bolt at quick hitch end.... Not totally happy with way I did it.... I would just use "mower deck stabalizer kit" if I had to do it again...

But there is a kit out the can do whatever you need with no "custom" work...

Your link is dead but I get the gist of it. Good, smart, practical thinking on your end. Which quick hitch brand did you buy? Those look like altered connection pins at the bottom?

For concept....

If chains end up way to long (which they will) just cut off excess...

Quick Hitch is Cat I by BE AG & Industrial (QH1G).. Went this way because of different securing of adjustable top hook.... All the "other" cheap Chinese QH seem to need different top hook or some sort of "fix" because bolts for top hook interfere with top link on attachments (read/research numerous articles on QH's)...

I read much of the same stuff and ended up getting the harbor freight QH using a 20% off coupon ($79.99 out the door) and then I bought a new top hook ($45.01 thank you amazon) that addressed the hangup issue. All told I dropped $125 for a perfectly functioning setup.
