Copied from another website (so, apologies to the reference to the population of Nevada
)
"Nevada has a population of about 50 people, give or take. There's no infrastructure for a million people in the desert, or a way for them to get there.
Capacity of a single lane on a highway is about 30 cars per mile, which means for a million people to pass or arrive at a given point, it would take about 18 days at 75 mph.
And once there, what would they do for food, water, and shelter until they could get back to civilization?
It's physically impossible for anywhere near a million people to get there on a certain day and not die.
It would be quantitatively 20 burning man festivals at once."
