Love Hawaiian pizza.

Red delicious apples are the worst. Looks nice, no taste. Granny smith almost as bad, not an eating apple.

Wife brought me a couple taco bell tacos yesterday. The wrapping paper was pretty dissolved by the time she got here. Not good.

I see many kinds of apples in the stores that I do not remember seeing years ago. I figured new kinds were being developed to taste better in the stores. IMO a tree ripe delicious apple is hard to beat, but tree ripe fruit is not available to the general public.

True of many things. All summer we buy such things as tomatoes, peaches, as well as lots of other fruit and veggies at the local Farmer's Market that's open every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday in Denton. With many things, I'm not sure I'd really notice the taste difference, but the tomatoes definitely taste much better.

Best eating apples IMO are 'Honey Crisp'....they are worth the extra they cost...their texture, flavor and sweetness are all top of the list...
My second favorite is 'Arkansas Black' (smaller a little on the tart side)

Granny Smiths are for cooking (pies etc...)

I found out that apples can spend 2 years in a cool store before going on sale and those huge strawberries that are irrigated are tasteless.

I, too, like the Honey Crisp, but don't recall even hearing of Arkansas Black before.

From the Wiki: ...Popular as a fresh picked apple at roadside stands and produce markets, the apple has begun to enter commercial distribution and so is now becoming more widely available.

There is a stand around Leslie Ar. That prominently sells them. Follow the signs.
