Saw dog bite girl today.

If you read any of the other posts on this incident you would know that the dog came into the house thru a door that had been opened by a child and attacked another child INSIDE THEIR HOUSE. The dog was collared but nobody will claim it. The pictures taken at the emergency room show the femur visible thru one of the four wounds. According to the surgeon who stitched the wounds the main artery that supplies blood to the leg was visible. If the bites had opened that artery she would have bled to death in minutes.

The mother had to get on top of the dog and choke it to get it to let go of the child. She then carried the fighting dog a short distance and dropped it in the garage and trapped it there. During the same week this happened there were two other dog attacks within twenty miles of here. One a fatality, the other with another child hospitalized for a couple weeks.

So do you understand why the dad is shooting strays on sight? Or do you think the life of a stray dog is worth more than the life of a child? From the tone of your post it sure seems that way.

Yes, the kid the got a bad break, don't mean every stray dog is dangerour is my only opinion. That said, found out a long time ago you can't change the person who you are by moving, so perhaps you and your buddy would be better off staying where you're at and not moving closer to me:thumbsup:

Dogs are dogs, whether or not the owner is an idiot or not, if a dog is loose and threatens anyone and their property, they need to be stopped with a bullet.. Unfortunately a lot of times it's to late..

Glad I don't live in Maine and am in NC. More than a couple of strays onto our property, all wagging their tails and fine.

Perhaps it's not the state, but how close you live to trailer trash who don't care? I'm honestly not certain...

You are lucky as am I..

I have had plenty of dogs visit when I'm working outside, not gonna lie, if a pit bull does the same I will be more at the ready.. You are not going to change there reputation, way to many losers own them.. Dealing with a dog is easier than dealing with the losers that own them...

So the little boy in TX that went into the fenced in backyard that was killed by 3 pit bulls, it's the kids fault.. If a kid jumped my fence and got into my dog yard, my GSD would kiss him and bring him his ball to play with..

Why own a dog that will maul and kill a child and does so on a weekly basis.. Makes no sense..

I wonder why low class people always seem to gravitate to dog ownership? Heck, just for starters, I realize how much I spend on feeding two cats. Don't even get me started on their vet and dental bills!

You own a fricken German Shephard dude, they can and have mauled children. That said, do I believe GSH's should be outlawed? No. Likewise, the best dog I've ever owned in my life was a terrier breed, which should tell you enough about the breed IMO (I have high standards:thumbsup

Your EXACT line of thinking is what the majority of the US population thinks of "assault rifles" now. I missed it, why do losers who want to kill a lot of people own semi automatic rifles for? You line of reasoning is no different than half the population that think that "assault rifles" should be banned...

Little boy? Wasn't he a 16 year old? The pics of the yard look like the place isn't somewhere you'd want to be.
