I own two AR-15's, both in 5.56 caliber.
Great rifles for target shootinbg and plinking...also, a great self defense rifle with the right ammunition

Kind of outgunned when the Tyrant has laser and microwave weapons deployed from space. lol The AR is good, but not THAT good.

It is impossible to control any population without ground forces.
Killing from space is only just killing!
It is NOT population control/domination of a country.

Or just kill them slowly with con-trails. lol

Curious what's gonna happen in China? Mass detention? Re-education?

Most of the laws in place or proposed are "feel good" attempts by politicians to show the ignorant masses they are "doing something".

If I had some twisted reason to kill people, I would not enter a crowded place where I can be seen, hunted down and killed. A scoped bolt action from 300-400 yards fired from an area of concealment is a smarter choice. Even people who try to take cover after the first shot or two will be easy to pick off. After doing the deed, leave the rifle there (a rifle that could not traced back) and walk away.

We are dealing with nut cases. Impossible to stop a determined person from killing others if that is what they want to do. Pipe bombs, pressure cookers, vehicles driven into crowds or filled with ammonium nitrate and diesel, etc etc.

Sorry for the thread drift, but I get worked up over the stupidity of politicians and the general public when they affect my rights.

The general public have had access to semiautomatic high capacity handguns and rifles for longer than most can remember and yet mass shootings are relatively new; kind of hard to blame it on weapons technology.

Even the AR-15 has been available for over 50 years.

AR-15 style rifle - Wikipedia
In 1964, Colt began selling its own version with an improved semi-automatic design known as the Colt AR-15.

I think once we began to compromise, the compromising won't stop.
We will compromise ARs' Next we will compromise High cap. magazines, then any semi auto, etc, etc,. I really don't see it stopping once it starts

I agree...

This thread was bound to get political, yet I believe that the OP got his question answered. If for some demented reason I wanted to go on a mass killing spree it wouldn稚 be with a gun... it would be an attempt to outdo McVeigh and not get caught.
Popular author Stephen King published a short story in nineteen eighty something about a college kid who snuck a rifle into his room and went on a killing spree... it isn稚 a new horror.

The "militia" was expected to show up, when called, with weapons capable of service. Essentially, that means "military" hardware.

The 2nd Amendment does NOT "grant" the right to bear arms. It REITERATES an existing right -in order to provide a level of protection against corrupt government.

The Primary purpose of the 2nd Amendment is to allow FREE CITIZENS to resist their own government if/when it becomes necessary. To that point, it is I N S A N I T Y of the highest regard to allow government interference in this right. Most gun control is unconstitutional. Red Flag Laws are unconstitutional. To deny the right to keep firearms "before cause" is the same as "Prior Restraint" - which has long been ruled unconstitutional.

The problems in our society have NOTHING to do with guns. Evil abounds because we have allowed generations to become indoctrinated in SELF. Morals, ethics, absolutes ... forbidden. God ... how dare you mention Him in public. Schools have abandoned the task of education for the higher calling of social engineering. Simply put - we are reaping the harvest of a nation that has become largely morally bankrupt.

Yep... let's not let this thread go political...
