I tried bib overalls many years ago. It was mighty nice to have so many pockets, until I leaned over and things started falling out. After losing my favorite pocke knife, I gave up. There are many people who seldom wear anything else so, I guess they've learned what they can safely carry in which pocket. Am I rignt?

I wear insulated ones in winter, some have zippers in that chest pocket, but you are right that things can slide out when you lean over  I've started just sticking things like gloves/hats that are puffy enough to stay in place.

Just a guess... but I would suppose that a lot of guys that wear bibs...do not do a lot of bending...at least too far...:D

I'm not enough of a man, my shoulders too slanted, I guess, and the straps always fall off to the sides when bending forward. Otherwise, I would love to wear them. And still do.

Ralph Monroe wore them on Green Acres and "she" was a carpenter !

It's the tool pocket on the side of the leg that I lost a good pocket knife....on a regular pair of work pants. Summer weight bibs are comfortable for riding on the tractor. No belt is even more comfortable. Going to the crapper requires special attention to the straps or to one's glasses.
Cheers,
Mike

Only poor kids wore them when I was growing up; I swore when I could afford my own clothes I would never wear them again...and I haven't for 65 years. And yes, if you don't watch the gallouses (suspenders), they get in the way of bodily functions and you have to wear them until you can change. Being wet wasn't too bad, but...

You must be right. My Grandfather wore Dickies bib overalls every day but Sunday and he had more skill and smarts than anyone I know.

I can't bend like I used to. Maybe I should give them another try.

Instead of bibs, I just wear work coveralls.
