^^^^^^^I would say 4-$500.00 is all it's worth, maybe more if one wanted rear end weight, ballast box with winch.
I've bought and sold a few winches over the years, and based my opinion on what they have gone for. I (briefly) had a Farmi which was very similar to that one, bought it for $1200, used it once, and sold it for the same amount when I realized that my 275 was too small/tired to run it.
Brave, made in Minnesota. With the Honda GX.
When it comes to old used, it really is what you can get for it. Used winches aren't very common so can command a good price. Sometimes though it's easier to buy new, which is why I did this time. The for sale sign say's trade for smaller winch for 30hp tractor, but I dont see why that wont work on a 30 hp tractor. although I would put a smaller cable on like a 5/16 or 8mm, 3/8 on 40-50 hp.
The leg arrangement allows it to fold up tighter for storage in the off-season, very important to me. The angled leg is removable so it takes up little space when in the vertical position. A downside is it is a little less stable in vertical position with the leg being closer to the axle, but the trade off works for me. As long as I have it on level ground or close to level it is fine. In horizontal it is no different. I am in the land of softwood so the 22Ton is more than enough for my wood.Looks like a good quality rugged splitter. It has an interesting leg design I've not seen before. There must be an advantage to it but I'm not seeing it ?? Seems like it would be heavy lifting the hitch off the ball w/o a crank stand.
Nice day's work !!

They must want to much for this old Fransgard winch, been side the road for two weeks. Looks like it must be atleast a 20 year old model. Fransgard has kept that cam engage design, mine a 07 model and that part is pretty much the same, just mine dont have legs. All newer models have a but-plate, I think thats better then legs.
