18" diameter pans usually require 3-5 passes over a plowed field to smooth it. Worthless for breaking new ground.
A Disc 16/18 with 18" diameter pans has about 37 pounds bearing on each pan.
A 16/20 Disc with 20" diameter pans has 50 - 55 pounds bearing on each pan.
With an
L2501, 2,600 pounds bare tractor weight, you will be happier with a PTO-powered roto-tiller.
You lack about 1,000 pounds bare tractor weight for 6'-6" 16/20 Disc Harrow, assuming you have 4-WD.
