I have worked under this so called Misconception for a LONG time. :laughing:
Worked in a number of Car Dealerships and Repair Shops, and we ALWAYS put a 2x6 under a battery, charging or not, we actually cut 2x6 for that exact purpose. :drool:
Hearing that some thought it to be a misconception, I'm thinking it may have been the older batteries that had the problem, Lead Acid can do funny things, and the newer designs had taken the discharging into consideration. As stated within the above Quote, new designs didn't change anything. :confused2:
For what it is worth, I will continue to use my precut 2x6's as platforms for batteries, charging or just sitting there. :cool2::dance1: :drink:
I hate to tell you, but the 2X6s cut specifically for that purpose, weren't even 2x6s. Don't believe me, measure them, well I guess it's a bit late for that.
