Bamarob, you'll like the WR long EOH valve function. Great to have on the stick.

Yeah, I've been using it for several months now. I'm certainly happy with it.

BR-nice work on the grapple and this thread.

I too bought the WR Long valve kit and had trouble with the hoses-cheap fittings and too short. I had bad advice from Carver and didn't buy the bulk head for my Kubota. I used industrial tie downs and wrapped my hoses with a plastic sleeve for hoses. So far it has wrked very well.

My little Tatro bucket grapple has worked well for my work which is mostly moving maple trees and logs for firewood. What you and Island have is perfect though.

Looks like the bucket grapple is working nicely for your intended uses. With that toothbar on your bucket, it'd be almost as functional as my grapple for root grubbing. Of course, my grapple doesn't function worth a darn as a bucket! ;)

It's no big deal (10 minutes or so - would be even less with a QA bucket and grapple, both mine pin on) if I need the bucket instead.

I just ordered a WR Long bolt on grapple kit today through a dealer. I can't wait to install it!

Hi, KeithT

I am a new member of TBN and was searching for information on installing a grapple when I ran across your post. I just ordered a bolt on grapple and tooth bar from WR Long. Should arrive in 2 - 3 weeks. Have you posted anything on the install? Any tips on how to do it? How has your experience with the grapple been? I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of mine.

Thanks,
Mark

Wow you dug this up from some time ago! I just sold that old tractor (and grapple) a month ago and I took delivery of a Kioti 3510HST SE. I already have a WR long 3rd function kit in my garage to install and a everything attachments extreme root/rock rake grapple on order (10-12 weeks out).

So a couple things, I probably should致e kept the third function from my old Tractor, because looking at the new unit I got from WR long, it looks pretty much the same. I can稚 really remember anything specifically about the install, but I did not think it was too difficult. At least I don稚 remember it being a pain, otherwise I would致e probably had the dealer in stall this before I got it.

You are just re-grouting some hydraulic hoses to the third function valve and getting power to the electric switch. Sorry I don稚 have much useful information for you. But I can post some details on my most recent install which I will be doing in the next week or two.

Geez! Just the WR long 3rd function kit is $800.00 now! I paid $1200 for the grapple and 3rd function 12 years ago lol

Thanks for getting back to me. I am not actually doing a third function. I have a 1972 Ford 3000 that the bolt on grapple and tooth bar are going on and I wasn't ready to put out that much money for the third function. I am just going to run long hoses back to the hydraulics on the back of the tractor and use the stock control. I think it will do for my purposes. Just the grapple is what I was wondering about. It looks pretty straight forward, so I don't think I will have any problems with it. Did it perform well for you?

The grapple was very straight forward. It bolted to the side of the bucket. I had to drill 4
Holes. Held up very well for me. Take your time to bolt it to your bucket in a way that it lines up best with your tooth bar.

Ok. Thanks. Sounds good. I've got another week or two for the equipment to arrive. Am looking forward to getting it installed. Have fun with your new tractor! I had never heard of that make before, so looked up a short video on it. Looks pretty awesome!
