By the looks of the wood it is cut up non to soon. Looks like maple of some sort.

Agreed it looks like maple. My experience is maple goes to crap really fast.

Made up a hitch on the rear of the processor so I can tow the conveyor in one trip. It痴 full swing processing season now, most folks here like to wait and don稚 bother keeping a year ahead. How they get some wood to burn is beyond me!
Post some more pictures of it in operation, looks neat. I wont start on mine til next month, I have 8 cord of tree length been sitting since last March.

It has been sitting maybe three years cut into ten or twelve foot logs, kept off the ground. I was surprised that it was as wet as it was. Bark, mostly peeled off easily. I have rarely seen wood that goes to crap without loosing weight. Not sure. I can burn it this season. Kind of guessing not.

I have a Marlin 30-30, great deer gun, but after the hunt and before I get in the Jeep, it's jack and rack cause I think it's against the law to have a loaded gun in a vehicle, I think.

As I pointed out in my post above, you don't need to jack them out. Just push in on the loading gate, and they will pop out the opposite of the way that you loaded it.

I've never seen maple that dark before. If he'd said before that it was wet, it would have explained why the stuff is so heavy.

I was in the driveshed tonight. The whole shed smells of that stuff. Kind of like apple, but not quite. I had thoughts that it would have made furniture wood, but am telling myself that it wasn't straight enough.

The only hardwood up here that stays solid for long time on ground is red oak. I tried to cut firewood 2 years in advance but in 2 years beach, birch, maple all started to get on the punchy side, be nice if had a giant wood shed to cut and store.

Once you cut and split the wood, get it under cover it will dry fast, remember if it aint getting wet it's getting dry.

Take a memo, need new side boards.......... Can you get 2 cord on that dump?

Yes, I need to find some oak boards. The pine didn’t hold up very good. Nope the bed won’t hold 2 cords and a 1 ton truck wouldn’t carry that much weight. I doubt this load was 1.5 cords. Probably closer to 1.3. I didn’t scale that load but if I had to guess I’d say it was in the 7,000 pound range. IMG_7070.JPG
