We are not looking at the standard height toppers, but rather the ones that are slightly taller. We like the extra space they have and the taller ones while working back there.

I put a BAK Revolver X2 on my truck a couple of years ago when I switched to a GN and had to ditch the fiberglass cap. The cover leaks about the same amount as the cap did (around the upper corner of the tailgate and the bed and cover) but otherwise has been trouble free and still looks like new. Nice and secure and gives complete access to the bed when needed. My dad had a tri-fold on his truck until the wind ripped it off when he was hauling his 5th wheel. They don't like cross winds when partially open. Over $6K in damage to the truck and trailer.

FYI, ARE is making caps for the Ranger according to their website.
Z2 Truck Cap : A.R.E. : Truck caps, truck toppers, camper shells, truck canopies, truck bed covers, hard tonneau covers and truck accessories from A.R.E.

So does Leer.

I have an Extang Trifecta (IIRC) soft Trifold cover on my Tundra. I thought I’d never like a tonneau cover after a bad experience with a roll up model of some forgotten brand years ago but I love it. I bought it Sept 2009 and it does its job from near arctic weather hunting in NW ONT to blazing FL sun in the spring and works very well. After six years I noticed a very tiny pinhole near the 2nd fold area. I figured I might have caused it when folding the ice encrusted thing up during a deer hunt but contacted Extang and after emailing some pics they sent me a brand new one, no charge and had the Extang dealer install it. Four years on the new one is going strong.

It weighs 30-40 pounds and you can install it yourself in about five minutes. Keeps stuff dry through a car wash etc. I’ve had a very small bit of water come in by the cab a couple times while driving in a torrent but it ain’t much and it might be due to me putting it on slightly askew.

I did try an Extang solid trifold before the Trifecta but it leaked. The place that sold it to me gave me a full refund and recommended the Trifecta.

I had camper shells on my pickups from 1972 til 2009 (with the exception of that roll up thing) but I’m gonna stick with the Trifecta the rest of my driving days.

Try Summit racing for tonneau covers. I had a GMC All Terrain-X with the "roll-bar". GMC didn't make a tonneau for it but Summit found me one that worked well. My 2500 has a GMC dealer installed roll-up cover and so far no leaks at all.

I had two Truxedo Lo Pro QT covers, one on my 11 Sierra, and 1 on my 17 Ram hemi. I love thrm, box stays dry, no issue with snow load either.

Check them out.

View attachment 622075I had a difficult time finding a tonneau cover for the Taco Wagon. It has the Ram Box addition and few manufacturers make covers for this situation. However - time, patience & a lot of searching. Truxedo.com - LoPro model. It's a roll up type - fits great, works fine.

I have a hard 3 piece folding one on my 2015 RAM similar to this;

I have been pleased with it, I can fold two pieces up and put taller stuff in the bed.
It's not water proof but not much gets in.
I didn't want one of the ones that sat down flush or rolled up because of the weather issues in the winter, I do have to spray some silicon sprays where it fits down on the tailgate or it will ice up from snowmelt and be difficult to open the tailgate.

Thanks for the idea's folks but every manufacture listed and I looked at, is not producing them yet for the 2019 ranger with 6ft box. Maybe more will in time? This company, American Tonneau Tri-Fold Tonneau does.

I just bought a Gator tri fold for my new F250. Second Gator I've had and pretty reasonable at $249 plus shipping. It's seen 2 heavy rain storms and made a couple of trips through the car wash and kept the bed dry.
I went the expensive route last time with a Peragon. Leaking, hard to keep adjusted piece of trash in my opinion. I talked the dealer into a couple hundred more on the trade and let it go with the truck.
