A new way to mount a box on a Tractor? I've never seen it anyway.

I watch this one documentary years ago about Israeli kibbutzes, they'd go out plowing a field with a rifle slung over their shoulder. More or less had to, in that place/time.

I hope I never have to, but I sure enjoy the liberty of being able to.

I'd like to make a suggestion.

If you move the box towards the operators platform as far as you can then the front end loader interference should be gone. If the ammo box wants to rotate you could install a small support down the the front end loader bracket or you could hang the rear of the box off of the platform with a bracket.

You could mount the box even closer to the platform if you mounted it on some angle iron or some other suitable material.

Good point, drilling the holes as close to the front of the box as possible would push it backwards about 4" and might clear the loader bracket better.

^thanks, and that can be done, but the snap close mechanism will impinge on the floor platform. Moving the box inboard doesn't look like it, but the lid will scrape on the plastic of the cowling. It's all just a compromise going any way or another.

You can see how close it is in post#5.

50cal box attached to ROPS bolts. Extra plate inside the box helps stiffen the mounting thru the side of box.

Tractor without tool boxes is like pants without pockets.

Welp, I got it installed and it's not as slick as I'd hoped. It's really tight where the lid won't completely open, but worse, it's so tight that removing the loader and reinstalling it may damage the box if I'm not very careful.

I'm glad I have it there for extra storage, but it ain't perfect.

Drill new holes closer to the hinge side of the box to offset it more towards the foot well.

Well looks like to already answered that, What about building a bracket that bolts through the foot well.

What about the other side?

I like how readers on TBN all see things a bit differently.
