What type of batteries for trail camera?

In general I like and use Duracell "PRO" batteries. But on the other hand, they are the only batteries I recall ever leaked and messed up various equipment. Trail camera batteries may not be in there long enough to worry about that though.

I agree with Eddie, I only run Duracell in our cameras and they last a long time.

Same here. Tried the Lithium Energizer, among others, and they didn't last as long as the Duracell's.

I run five game cameras(Brownings and Bushnells) and two Dakota Alert Murs drive-way alarms.I only use Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries.I have tried all types including rechargeable(mistake; wrong voltage).Expensive but last a very long time.
Note:I run my cameras on 20 sec.video and have;thousands of video's with one set of batteries.I live in Northern NY so lots of cold weather.I purchase on Amazon in bulk.
Cold weather has no effect on the Lithium ' s :quality cameras use less battery power also.Just purchased two more Brownings for my son (Xmas).

Lithium all the way! I get mine from Amazon for $1.44 a piece. Some have lasted more than a year and I keep my cameras set on five second video mode and 15 second delay between videos.

I tend to follow the manufactures recommendations. My cameras say no lithiums.
I have been using Amazon batteries. By the 100 pack = .19 cents each. I have been changing them out about every 6 months needed or not. At .19 cents each you can do that :)
Cameras are set for 1 picture and a 2 minute video. Used for catching human activity

Duracell is the Standard that the others claim to be as good as. I don't believe any of them are for the money and I will stick with what works.

I don't think you can go wrong with either Duracell & Energizers, haven't seen a dime's worth of difference between the two. Other brands are way less consistent in quality, with HF batteries being near the bottom.
Surprisingly, against all logic those Chinese no-name batteries that come with flashlights, remotes, etc. seem to be pretty good.

I have had plenty of rayovac batteries leak in my son's stuff. We buy them cause there cheap. I have to clean out the corrosion cause of them. He loves trains and we have tons of batteries in them.

I been meaning to try Amazon batteries though.

I had a Duracell battery leak in my electronic safe. Had a helluva time repairing the corrosion so I could get my safe open. It was only about a year old. Most batteries last 2 - 3 years. Haven't had any problems with cheaper brands but it doesn't get cold here.

I use energizer and get easily 6 months of NY spring-fall out of them. I did use one camera all winter long with regular batterys. It would only take pics/video on bright sunny days. Basicly when the temp went back up and the battery could produce voltage.

So if you want winter pics/video i would try lithium.
