And I know if you drink out of a garden hose anymore you’ll die that’s what they say!
Oh wait a minute I have been drinking out of garden hoses all my life, still am , and I’m still kicking!!

Just got back from HF, trip was to get some small things. I wanted to stock up on their socket rails. $0.79@. They used to hang them loud and proud. Now they've got their fancy "new" POC, some plastic that I'm sure will break, some like the old ones riveted 3 to a sheet of metal selling for $23. And there was only a small stock of the $0.79 on a bottom shelf corner.
That is quite a jump in price.
I think they are trying to get rid of the old stock.

I've noticed that too. I only saw the cheap rails in one size.

My brother saw me drinking out of the garden hose one day and told me how he'd seen a great amount of algae coming out of a hose when he first turned it on. I've never noticed that, infact I thought algae had to have sunlight to grow.

Heard some excellent reviews of the newer HF wrenches, ratchets and sockets from the mechanics at work. They said that they wrenches in particular appear to be identical to their $$$ SnapOn wrenches and the "good" line of ratchets and sockets looked to be very good quality.

We only drank from the hose on my grandparents farm as kids out and about... going into the house with farm clothes to reach for a glass from Grandma's cupboard would not have gone over well especially when all the cousins were together... her kitchen was spotless and no dairy/work clothes allowed.

Anyway... I'm thinking this was all long before Chinese/Imported hoses which is now about 90% from my quick unscientific survey...

Seems there are hundreds of hoses available in all sizes and prices...

What the testers found is high concentrations of recycled E-Waste in some imported hoses... guess it is one way to get rid of... I mean recycle... all the plastic trash.

In my one test the results were dramatic... literally overnight with a brand new hose... and repeated several weeks later when I used that hose again...

I now use a red rubber hose that is drinking water safe, 400 psi rated and very flexible... it also happens to be made in USA... picked it up at my local ACE with lifetime warranty... went yesterday to buy another and the sku now says made in China... hum???

Could be I got one of the old stock hoses... it was $35 for 50' where as the first hose was $29.95 but on sale for $19.95 and also 50'... and the hose ends look different.

Just thought it worth mentioning to see if others have had similar problems...

There have been proven cases of death from garden hose that was source for legionnaire disease... but hoses are often left laying around in any and all environments... so traced to hose doesn't mean the hose itself was the cause but only the source... but... that begs the question if the content of the hose is bad enough to kill plants why wouldn't it kill bacteria???

Gardener, 63, killed by his garden hose after inhaling deadly Legionnaires''' disease from stagnant water that had been baked by the sun

I often reminisce of simpler times...

They have the 30% off items under $10 again, this time with a limit of 9 (instead of the usual 5), but it's only good today and tomorrow.

Still no free tarp coupons though.

Got a half dozen of their moving blankets to use in the shop and outside on the gravel, think I will get another half dozen being the price is decent and I also need to get some tarps. I have had good luck with their ratchets and extensions.

We raced back to his house and I beat him by 20 Lengths ( he wore the Hefty jeans ). I grabbed the loose end of the hose stuck it in my mouth and spun the handle........only to get a mouthful of Earwigs!!!!
