naaaa, I had enough of them when they were on the boob toob…

I can't stand watching most of those "reality" logging shows. They seem more made-for-TV drama than how a real logging crew should work together. I've not watched this particular one, but in all the other shows I've seen over the years, I've yet to see one with folks I'd like to spend time in the woods with.

I respectfully disagree. With the Still flip up cap design it is quite easy to twist the cap, "lock" it down and the cap still comes off if you didn't have it in the right grooves. I have lost more oil than I care to admit, but don't usually notice until I get in the woods and ready to fire up. Thank goodness the cap tether works and I haven't lost the cap......yet.

IMO, flip caps - either Stihl or Husqvarna design were a solution in search of a problem. I never had problems with the old screw-in caps (and rarely needed a tool to unscrew them). The only issue was when I forgot to put them back on in the first place. I suspect the flip caps haven't solved that issue.

We have them in Maine, although they aren't poisonous. I still will pass on swimming with them though.

Just for you, Old Path... girl catching water snakes - Bing video

We have water moccasins here as well, but more commonly called cottonmouths in these parts.

As for the video, she may be a looker, but I'm sorry, that just doesn't make any sense...

The one thing I’ve noticed over the years is that there is NO reality on reality TV shows

Hold the phone jone, it's not a lock, it's a extra lever to grab a-hold of when the cap is on tight and you forgot the monkey wrench, I cant speak personal for Stihl although my son can, he thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but on my 550xpi think it works even better..........

Nothing but Drama... we live every bit of that here in Maine although I don't know many truckers who will let you push their truck through the mud like that. They will tell you that when it's muddy like that it's cheaper to stay home... call them when it stops raining or you get the road fixed.

40 years ago when I was working the woods, lot of times on a hard wood lot I had to push the chip trucks out with a 540 JD grapple skidder, it's better to do that the blow the rear end out of the truck and truck driver knew just when that 540 made contact with trailer to..... And we didn't stop when it rained good grief if we did that I'd be making $50.00/wk, I prefer a full check 5 days a week rain or shine, sometimes we had a 540 JD on front and one on back pushing and these skidders were full en-closed cabs with heaters, so winter was fun.

NEVER had that problem or any other with the flip caps on my Husqvarna's, I like them...

That oil cap on my Echo was coming off hard for re-filling so I was not tightening it down like I would on my 550xp because I was tied of needing the wrench to take it off, guess when using the Echo have to make sure a wrench is handy..........
