Also, once your tractor smells like "mouse-house", it will draw other mice like a magnet. You might want to clean the inside of the filter box and hose with something like Lysol.

Or get some cats. Haven’t seen any signs of a mouse since I adopted some barn cats. Don’t really see the cats much either so it’s a perfect situation.

I usta' have rabbits. Now I got hawks. Don't imagine a cat would last too long.

I had this happen to my Mercedes diesel air intake - took some 1/4" wire mesh rolled it and put it in front of the intake and a screw thru it to hold it in place. And I spread bait around the garage and barn and haven't had any issues for years.

I'm thinking about trying the dryer sheet gig. I could wrap one around the intake with a twist tie and not interfere with airflow at all. It would be right on top of the radiator too. Hmmm, wonder if the heat would dry it out and waste all the scent?

The dryer sheet they can chew thru/get sucked into the intake, but a few strands of 1/4" wire mesh will not impact airflow at all and will prevent critters from getting in.

I saw somewhere on here that a mouse can get through a 1/4 inch hole, so I知 not sure 1/4 mesh would work

The critters had taken a liking to my Tundra. Cost me a couple thousand over the years, filters, wiring harness, heater thermistor (requires pulling dash). Glad you found it and an easy fix.

Rigged up a piece of 1/4 hardware cloth (grid probably a bit smaller than 1/4"), wrapped, folded and secured over the intake. Guess we'll see. Or not.

I hates them meeces to pieces!

Perhaps a photo of a cat under the hood would eliminate that problem!

LOL, on small planes we'd leave a toy plastic snake on the aircraft cowling to deter birds from nesting under the cowling. It worked!
