You often miss what I say. I do help people. But to me, I become just their servant if I am doing stuff that should be part of their living arrangements. Then, why not go plow some Elderly farmers field for him? Muck out his barn. I don't get it. If someone suddenly falls ill, or has some temporary setback, different story. My experience, is that there is no shortage of old ladies willing to take advantage of peoples generosity. I will not be some old ladies door mat!

I understand that you are also not using your own resources.

The difference is that these people don't expect it at all. Sometimes we'll get an overnight storm where I'm at work all day and cant plow until 12 hours after the storm, or more...Never heard a peep from anyone. No, I won't be a door mat and if anyone demands that I plow, it won't get done. Thankfully I have fantastic neighbors and that hasn't happened in the 20 years I've lived here.

To each his own I guess. But when I hear about someone getting a plate of cookies (or case of beer) doesn't this in a sense indicate the value they place on your work? Just sayin. I knew a girl with a hundred yard driveway, and during heavy snows, she might have to pay the farmer that was clearing it two hundred dollars a day. He can go and buy himself a lot of cookies and beer for just a days work on one driveway. That was over ten years ago already too.

He can go and buy himself a lot of cookies and beer for just a days work on one driveway. That was over ten years ago already too.

It also buys peace..We have some loud bonfires etc and not one ever complains..I ride my daughter up and down the hard road on my quad (illegal here) and no one says anything..A little give and take. Basically, my time is free and I enjoy doing this, as does my neighbor--Yeah we have around 40k in combined plowing equipment but we enjoy it. There's a risk of breaking something but a risk we take for having a good time. That's what it's about for us.

Seen a bunch of hydro stuff for the front end , but never a leaf blower...Could probably build something like out of a pro level backpack blower.

I agree the price is high and people thought I was nuts when I bought mine...I don't use it a bunch in the summer (have a quad for that) but it gets it's use in the winter. My neighbor and I plow the neighborhood (9 driveways) and 1000' of right of way. Not for pay though. Most of the neighbors have 100'+ driveways and are retired so we just do it. An excuse to get out and have a few beers when done.

Once it's paid for, you won't regret the purchase. The hydro dump and power angle make this a nice worker.

It痴 a huge thing that値l blow an entire acre off in about 15 minutes. Or run right up a driveway and blow the leaves off. All from a cab with controls for blower nozzle & HVAC.
Can稚 see why that痴 not a popular attachment for estate care

You say things that aren't representative of your lifestyle. Then you claim to be misunderstood when anyone challenges that. Then you come back with analogies that are simply beyond reality. As if to justify the simple degrading statement that you originally made.

I have to say, that is really, really generous. And yeah....I know what you mean about the “peace”.
I do some “pro bono” work, but otherwise I get paid well for plowing snow. It’s so hard on my trucks and shortens their lives. Lost a lot of time with my wife and kids from plowing, too.

Good on you though. If you can plow snow for fun, more power to ya and do what you want.

He was actually talkin to me with that response. But I agree with everything you said. I've never had anyone call me after I'm done asking why I didn't do them a favor.

Industrial Toys doesn't think like we do. He doesn't have the same consideration of people that we do. He'll never understand what we do. And it's up to us to accept that about his personality. He can't help it.

I'll continue to offer the services that I do. I'm sure you will too.

I get it, you're probably doing housing plans...Much different than me. I would never do a plan where I didn't live with them without getting paid.

Yep, cause I enjoy it. Getting out of the house in the winter, having a few beers with friends--All good here. Glad we're on the same page.

A strong blower can also be very effective on a dry, light snowfall that is just enough to need attention. But you may be far enough South that those storms are rare.
