You often miss what I say. I do help people. But to me, I become just their servant if I am doing stuff that should be part of their living arrangements. Then, why not go plow some Elderly farmers field for him? Muck out his barn. I don't get it. If someone suddenly falls ill, or has some temporary setback, different story. My experience, is that there is no shortage of old ladies willing to take advantage of peoples generosity. I will not be some old ladies door mat!
I understand that you are also not using your own resources.
The difference is that these people don't expect it at all. Sometimes we'll get an overnight storm where I'm at work all day and cant plow until 12 hours after the storm, or more...Never heard a peep from anyone. No, I won't be a door mat and if anyone demands that I plow, it won't get done. Thankfully I have fantastic neighbors and that hasn't happened in the 20 years I've lived here.
