My only experience with Mahindra is through my neighbor who owns two of them. His Max 28 is a solid tractor, but as noted the controls are crude, the seat is basic, the paintwork and fit/finish are at the bottom end of the spectrum, and it's very much a budget machine. He has run into the common problem with the Max, where moisture gets into connectors in the wiring harness (this is a tractor stored indoors). It caused the engine to die and not start because it took out the fuel solenoid. Took a while to get that diagnosed and fixed, and of course it can recur. Mahindra has not corrected this problem on new Max models, which blows my mind.
His two month old Mahindra UTV was out of service for 6+ months while Mahindra waited for a part, and they made no effort to escalate it or swap him into a new unit. The dealer was super frustrated. Keep in mind that these UTVs are made in the USA, and you would think someone could have pulled a part from the factory or somehow worked out a solution. Or just do the right thing, period. Nope, they just left the customer hanging and making payments on his dead UTV.
I could accept the Max situation because it is a low priced tractor and expected in that price range. I know Mahindra's larger tractors are plus/minus compared to competing machines, depending on who made them and how they are spec'd and equipped, so it's possible to buy a nicer Mahindra tractor. But the warranty experience with the UTV totally soured my opinion of the company.
