No backhoe. Has a front mount snowblower and loader. Guess I'd have to back it on a trailer with snowblower hanging from bucket. The box truck idea is interesting. I rented one of the big Penske box trucks to move once but didn't have ramps to take that kinda load :(. Maybe some do?
Really limited options for trailer rentals here. It seems I'm at uhaul and make it work or real heavy skid steer pintle trailers, buy I'm not comfortable with those on my truck.

Got a hill, berm or a gully you could back the truck up to/into so you could drive on? Maybe a loading dock someone would let you use. Or a towing guy with a rollback could load it onto the rental for a few bucks.

According to Tractordata,TractorData.com Mahindra Max 28 XL tractor information the tractor weighs 1819 (geared) or 1863 (hydro) lbs and the loader weighs 627 lbs. Of course that's bare bones weight, not accounting for the weight of the snowblower, loaded tires if applicable, et.al. It's just over 8 feet long, plus the loader.

It sounds like it's time to buy a trailer too unless you have no intentions of using it later.

Mine weighs about 3200 with the loader and backhoe on. Just remember that you need to go for load capacity on the trailer not axle rating. Also don't forget about weight distribution so it hauls safely. My 6' x 10' trailer might be big enough without the hoe but it can only haul about 2000#. It would ruin the little trailer.

I would ask around any trailer sales places even if you just want to rent. They probably know somebody that could hook you up.

Check with an equipment rental place.

Make sure you check the nut on the ball on the hitch. Check it several times during your trip. I rented a U-Haul open floor car carrier to pickup my tractor 6 hours away in PA. I checked the ball when we started, and tightened it with an 18" box wrench. 6 hours later we get home to CT, I back the tractor off the trailer and the trailer comes right off the truck. The nut was gone. I have no idea how long we towed the trailer with the nut missing. I am guessing the action of the surge brakes applied a twisting action on the ball and worked it loose. I've had that receiver and ball for 10 years and that trailer is the only one that ever worked it loose.

Where are you in MA? I know CTTrailers.com in CT is located in Bolton CT, and they rent a dual axle tilt trailer with 7,000lb capacity (10K trailer) for $150 for 24 hours. I have a local rental place that has trailers up to 10K for $75 a day. But they specify in CT only. If you have a Taylor Rental near you (they are in MA), they rent a car trailer for $100 a day.
