This was yesterday March 8. We had high winds and drifting snow. At times we were in whiteout conditions and that's probably why the driver didn't see the snow drift. Anyway I recorded the action that took place after he got stuck. Here's the video.

I sure would have remained at home if conditions were like that. Fellow is lucky that somebody came along to help.

That's a strong enough wind to drive snow right down the neck of my Eddie Bauer down jacket. Man- hot coffee & Jack time.

Wonder how long it took for the road to drift shut again after the front end loader went thru.

Yeah my son is in the Chicago area and he keeps reminding me of the difference between there and here :)

The plow kept coming back every few hours so no one else caught in the trap.

Well I was on standby with my BX but I had 2 foot drifts to deal with so I held back and it worked out ok as shown in the video. (All cars need a way to easily connect a tow rope!)

In days gone by, one could hook to a bumper for a tug. That went sourh when the five mph crash bumpers hit the industry. How many lives that saved, seriously? Never had to try the little screw in attachment on my Subaru front end to see how that works. Trying to pull any newer car would result in much plastic damage.
