What is a climbing saw?

Small top handle saw for one-handed use when cutting from up in a tree, bucket, ladder, etc.

Small top handle saw for one-handed use when cutting from up in a tree, bucket, ladder, etc.

AKA Arborist's saw, a couple of the guys that I work with have these for doing boundary lines. They are light and compact, fitting nicely into a backpack.

They aren't inexpensive though compared to other saws that size.

Right behind those boxes, it drops of sharply, down to a really nice spring fed stream, so yeaa, it's pretty dry right there... When I was a kid, we would get brown trout out of that stream, dad always really liked that! lol

The frost is out of here, and it's drying up pretty fast...

My BIL bought one of those putt putt JD 50 years ago with a small mechanical FEL, his first farming tractor. One day when I was 15 I was helping out with prep work on a building move, I lifted bucket up bout 4' high then backed around to empty it and over it went, ever since then I never was a fan of narrow front end but it was a nice little tractor and I always liked the sound it made. He even put an old set of half-tracks on it to haul firewood, did ok on flat ground.

So are the trout gone ?

There never was any trout, SR was netting suckers, green herons favorite fish............

Don't think dad would have gave us ANYTHING for a sucker! lol

We use to spear them when I was a kid, and dad would fire up the smoker and smoke them. They were pretty good that way.

I remember seeing that and thinking he needed a longer ladder!

This was the last job done with my climbing saw, back in 2013. It's been in storage since.
