Need to replace the motor on my chipper . It is a Briggs 800 series . Having a heck of a time locating specs for shaft size , key way etc.. The model numbers on the valve cover does not bring up any luck on all the sites I致e tried . Also can稚 tell if it has gear reduction or do I really need it. The unit belonged to my father-in-law who passed five years ago . The chipper model Is CST 800. Looking for advice on what motor I can put it . Trying to stay low on cost , a new comparable chipper is around $800 . Wouldn稚 be cost effective to spend more than $300 on a motor . I have over five acres so I burn too and chipping/mulching is more of a convenience.
Thanks .
