Mine says E. Hem - 981, Lobolly - 1041. within 5% so close. All calculators aren't the same I guess. The one I use is green logs.

The density's it uses is 51 for E.H. and 53 for Lob. 4% difference.

Mine doesn't give density..

Interesting they are that different

Well lets see, according to my log weight calculator an Eastern hemlock log 16 feet long, 14" small end and 16" large end weighs 812 pounds, a Loblolly log of the same size weighs 1011 pounds so you might rethink your Styrofoam comment.

SO much water in pines..

I was going by my body calculator while building my garage with both northern hemlock and northern white pine, the pine was lot lot lot lighter but did shrink the most, also the pine was more pitchyer to.

Clutch bearing when running daily is done daily and replaced every 6 months with the top end.

And I never greased yearly or ever, think I better check my 15 year old 2171 Jonsered. I would've thought Stihl would have a grease hole on the end of shaft like Husqvarna but that guy on that video didn't show it.

I’ll be nice but Stihl isn’t all it’s cracked up to be I’ve never cared for the 0 series saws my hands really hate them. The air filtration on Stihl saws has always been garbage and the 3/4 wrap are ok you can get by with them but why did they go from a full wrap to the 3/4. Sorry rant over.

Looks like an eastern white pine log of the same size is only 732 pounds, so its lighter than the other two we were comparing.

Good info on the videos on greasing the bearing inside the clutch a page or two back.

Just thought this would make a good tractors and wood pic this morning. Today I was going to split this last little bit from what I blocked up a while back. But I might wait until tomorrow.
