Kioti DK4210SE HST w/cab
Hey everyone, new here and was hoping to get some input on dealer prices I've been given. I'm looking at a new Kioti DK4210SE HS w/cab with loader/bucket, 3rd function, root grapple, backhoe. The breakdown I was given by my local dealer was:

Tractor (SE, with cab, mirrors, floor mat, backhoe valves, electric PTO button, etc.): $28,539
Backhoe: $7,489
3rd Function: $1,100
Root Grapple: $3,300
---
Total: $40,428.

I've made a few other calls around. Another quote from a dealer that only stocks the DK4610SE (5 more HP but same otherwise). My local dealer can do this for ~1K extra. Note that I didn't price this one out with a grapple, but it does have the 3rd function installation:

Tractor+Backhoe+3rd function (NO grapple): $43,400

And the 3rd dealer I contacted, which also doesn't include the grapple but does include the 3rd function:

Tractor (SE, 42hp, same as local dealer)+Backhoe+3rd function: $39,973.

The second quote and 3rd quote are both noticeably higher than my local dealer. I'm basically looking for a sanity check as I'm close to pulling the trigger. I already went to the local dealer for a test drive. I didn't negotiate at all but the price seems like the best around and it's local. They're also telling me that shipping has been WAY backed up from Korea due to Covid-19. They typically stock 30+ units and they're down to 7-8, most of which are already sold. I think the last time I talked with them they mentioned the one I'm looking at is the last tractor in stock that isn't sold. The other dealers let me know they didn't actually have what I was looking for in stock but could order it. Sounds like tractors just aren't coming in. I can vouch for them having less in stock than usual, the front looked empty where it's usually lined with them (I drive by there now and then). However, I do still worry that it's just a way to put pressure on me to act quickly. Is there anything I can request to sweeten the deal? 50 hour service? Other odds and ends?

One other thing - they mentioned not needing a block/fuel heater these days. Does that sound right to you guys/gals?

Let me know what you guys think!
Matt

No idea on the tractor/hoe price. But the 3rd function on my NX last fall was only $750 installed.

What grapple did they quote you? Also, are any of them including filled rear tires? Depending on your tire selection, and what you're wanting to do with the tractor, loaded tires are rather handy (can also be a negative if you're driving on your yard 24/7).

I actually just called back before seeing this to get the size/brand but the salesman was unavailable. None of them included loaded tires - they all included R4 tires. Planning on trail management, some minor clearing (will probably rent at some point as well depending on how far we go with this), lots of cleanup (the property was logged heavily before we bought it and it was a rough job so there is cleanup to do all over the place), firewood processing (we heat 100% with wood), small hobby farm stuff, snow clearing eventually, etc. I'm not too worried about being on the yard all the time, I don't plan to mow with it ATM. The land is a bit sloped and on the rocky side. Hopefully that helps, thanks for the feedback!

I'm waiting for DK4710SE HST delivery. It was another tractor available DK5310SE HST with cab, dealer said it's available for around $29K-30K in Florida. Grapple over $3k should be gold plated with at least one small diamond.:)

If it's sloped you want to consider HST

Yeah, one of the other quotes included the price for a worksaver grapple, 48" for $1899 and 60" for $2350. $3300 seems high to me. Maybe I could just order the grapple through them. Swamphouse, yes this is a hydrostatic model. DK5310SE HST with cab for 29-30 is not bad. I think I could be at the DK4710SE HST with cab for around 29.5 (without attachments) if I wanted from my local dealer. Honestly don't think I need the extra HP. When I started this search I was dead set on a CK2610 (25HP) so I am already thinking the DK is a big step up from there (and already way outside my original budget!).

If you are farming or mowing 60 - 80 - 100 acres then gears make a lot of sense. For loader work and smaller acreage, HST is significantly easier to use and faster. My 2010 Deere 4720 is HST with none of the emission stuff, I bought it a couple of years ago with 350 hours on the clock with an MX8 pull mower and the dealer threw in pallet forks. Wrote a check for $34k. It has been a great tractor. Be sure and check the used market.

More info on the grapple. They mistakenly priced me for the 66" and meant to price the 60". It's $2600 for a 48", $2850 for 54", $3000 for 60", $3300 for 66". The 60" is a HLA RRGLD60. I was told it's "commercial grade" - I think they know I can pick one up for cheaper elsewhere and mentioned just doing the 3rd function kit. Filled tires are an extra $450. I'm not the best negotiator but they don't seem to be budging on anything or willing to throw anything extra in. I told them if they could come down a bit I would be ready to sign but otherwise I needed some time (this is a big purchase, no lie there).

Regarding the grapple - I'm wondering now what size I want. The 48" might be better for maneuverability, thinning between trees, etc. I wonder if the shorter length will have a harder time picking up logs though.

Sounds like the filled tires adds an extra 1200 pounds. I'm worried about being able to tow this thing around (not often, just servicing, etc.) and that added weight may put me over. My half ton has a tow capacity of 8200 pounds (I have tow/haul mode with trailer breaks FWIW). The tractor comes in around 4000, backhoe is another 1100 (without the bucket), loader is around 1000 (with bucket). Plus the weight of the trailer itself and I'm getting closer than I would like without the added tire weight. I don't have a trailer yet, just thinking ahead. I wouldn't be trailering it a lot (and could leave the backhoe off) at all but I don't want to go over capacity either.

You don't need heavy duty. Heavy duty = more weight, more wight = less you can lift. Your loader will lift only 2700lb if you have 5510 loader and 2600lb if you have 5520 loader. Minus grapple weight. I think, bellow 500lb grapple would work well, no? Commercial grapples are designed for skid steers with 5000lb + lifting power. My 2 cents.
