Are you measuring the trailer or the stacks? We usually figured a loose thrown volume has roughly 2/3 as much would as the same volume neatly stacked. Though that is for split wood. I've not paid much attention to how much thrown-in large rounds amount to when finally split and stacked.

Thrown in wood is harder to guess for me, I'd be a little leery of buying 2 cord of firewood that way unless it a well know firewood dealer, for the most part firewood dealers make sure you get what you pay for, they tend to like repeat customers.

You must be glad your not in the 60s and 70s, I ran a mid 70s McCulloch chainsaw back then for 15 minutes, it was practically brand new but my hands was tingling for 5 minutes afterwords, the guy wanted to sell it to me but I already had my first new Husqvarna, L65, so I said nah.

I think anti-vibe has come along way since then on all saws, maybe Husqvarna is the leader on that, either way it is very important and another reason why I like mechanical wood harvesting, I'm a big fan of make the machine do the work.

I can attest to the the older saws numbing your hands after hours of usage. I started clearing for my house lot back in 73 using a Mac 1010. After a few hours of straight usage I would have to go move the wood to give my hands a break. Eventually that saw died and I bought a brand new Husqvarna 50. I was so impressed when I got to use that saw. That was replaced by a new Husky 55. Then came the time to have a bigger saw. I bought a used Mac Pro 610 and a Pro 650. Those saws could cut wood. They were nowhere near as fast as an XP but they got the job done. I eventually latched on to a Husqvarna 262XP and that changed my life completely about cutting wood easily. All the other saws were sold off. My next purchase were a pair of the 2nd generation 346XP 's and a 372XP all bought brand new. I sold off the 262XP. I have used a Stihl 290 once for a few hours to cut up a couple of 2 foot Cherry trees. I thought that it had more vibes than my XP's. My ex BIL was using my 346XP and thought that my saw was better than his 290.
