Protecting from what?
If MF is balking it may be because they are considering possible neglect on your part, but I don't know the situation.

Sorry you had some bad luck with your tractor.

How well the plate can protect the filter, and what is "should" do, is not stipulated by any regulation, or listed in any brochure, warranty, or manual I have seen.

I'm not a big fan of MF's warranty policies. But, the fact that they did not make something so that no matter what happens, you can't damage it, is not evidence of their liability.

If someone lifts a bucket of rocks with your tractor, and one falls out of the bucket on top of the hood, would that also be MF's liability, if you believe they didn't protect the hood "as they should"?

On every tractor, there are body parts, hoses, wires, fans, tires, a radiator, etc., that can be damaged if the operator isn't careful, or inexperienced enough.

MF's normal policy is to give something in these cases. So, be patient.

Kubota makes a kit to repair this. (People manage to break them off theirs too). It allows the original nipple to be cut off flush, and a new one to be tapped into the housing. This makes for a pretty easy, relatively inexpensive, and fast repair of this. That eliminates the need to replace the entire housing. And, it works very well.

Perhaps the Kubota repair kit is an option in your case.

I have not and I recently installed a Bro-Tek undercarriage plate to protect those things. I recently just installed my drive over mower deck. The plate allows you the ability to hook up ur PTO for the mower deck without removing the plate itself. Which I thought was awesome. I just installed the plate about 2 months ago. I do lot of work in the woods as we have 10 acres of woods with our house. So before I would have to take it easy and hope a branch wouldn't hit the hydraulic fan or the filter. Now I don't have to worry about either. Its a bit pricey for what it is but it works.

When I took delivery of my GC1725 a year ago my dealer specifically pointed out that the hydraulic filter was not protected very well "if you're out trying to go over stumps and stuff" were his words. So I assume they've seen this problem before for him to specifically point that out to me. I believe the brotech plate would be a very nice addition or well worth it.

When you do install it. Then you say install your MMM. You will need to hook up the pto shaft first before pinning the MMM to ur hydraulic lift arms. IF you pin it first the pto from the MMM is to long to get it through the pre made cut out for the shaft

Thanks! Good info but I do not have a MMM. I stick with my zero turn for mowing.

I have heard from other boards that MF has a fix for the 1705, needs a call into AGCO. The cover for the GC!720 is more of a square box vs. a smaller curved plate.
