It's too bad that he doesn't know somebody with a sawmill. He could swap firewood in exchange for some lumber to replace those tired boards. :stirthepot:

Like your stove set-up OP. I see you have it rigged to get the heat where you want it.

Last day of April and we ran wood stove all day. It was a light snow year but the road side ditches are still full of it but still better than needing A/C on April 30 in my mind - to each his own and a good thing.

gg

Here it's been the coldest, wettest April I seen in a long time and my wood stove is still going and here we are in May, but the forecast is saying tomorrow we'll have a nice day.

I was out trying to lay out a block of wood to cut this summer, but had to abort. There was still 2 feet of snow in places, and there's no way that I'm getting on snowshoes in May.

Not a trace around my place, all brown ground with a tinge of green, oh no the green stuff is coming, how much green will that cost me this year........

After 3 inches of rain fell in the last two days, we are back to sunny and warm!

I'm going to split wood tomorrow, but I only have one box left to fill, so I drug out my old chit spreader that I used all the time, back when we grew veggies for sale,

Now that I no longer need the spreader for "that" purpose, I torched the beaters out of it, and will now use it for firewood! So I pulled the spreader over to a garden spot, and let all the leaves and sticks that have collected in it, empty out,
Leaving that "drag chain" in, means that when I'm ready to use the dried firewood, the spreader will self unload, right by the window to my basement!

And I was beginning to think you forgot what rain was. Now if you had a conveyor to unload into you wouldn't have to touch a stick.

80* down there and she has a sweatshirt on and I thought I was bad. Whats the rifle?

Well it was "only" 72 today, she is skinny and cold all the time, she even had long underwear on!! I was in a sleeveless T. The rifle is a Thompson Contender single shot in 30/30.. Different scope than in the picture though, its now wearing a Trijicon 2.5-10 x 56..
