Cherry pits. Olive pits. Heck, I thought it would be nice to put chocolate chips on some ice cream a few years ago. The ice cream froze the chips, and if you've ever looked at an upside down chocolate chip's profile, it looks just like a splitting wedge.... shattered a molar!

Had to get a root canal and crown.

I don't know if they even make them anymore but there used to be a candy bar called "Charleston Chews", which was available in bags of "Bite sized". One suggestion they made was to put them into the freezer for a frozen treat... just as you said, my father broke a tooth on one of them.
On another occasion he got a nasty cut in his mouth from a piece of "thin ribbon" Christmas candy.

I THINK BIG CORP. HAVE FUNDS AND INSURANCE TO COVER THESE THINGS. IF YOU SUE, OR THREATEN TO SUE THE INS. CO PAYS. THE STORE MIGHT GET SOME BAD PUBLICITY OVER IT OR MAYBE AN INCREASE IN INS. RATES, BUT I DON'T THINK THE OWNERS HAVE MUCH OF A SETTLEMENT OUT OF POCKET. I'VE NOT HAD ANY EXPERIENCE SO I'M NOT SURE. WAS DRINKING A BEER AT OUR LOCAL VFW AND FOUND A WADDED UP NAPKIN IN THE BOTTLE. THEY GAVE ME ANOTHER BEER TO WASH IT DOWN.

Drinking a fast food "strawberry" flavored shake through a straw and saw something coming up the straw. Wait a minute, there aren't real strawberries in here, . . . blew it out on a napkin and it was a spider. Kinda cured my strawberry cravings for a couple decades. Too young then to even get a free meal out of it.

A variation I had was a box of chocolate chip cookie mix. I enjoyed this brand, that lets say starts with a "K", as it was the closest tasting to made from scratch cookies. Out of the blue I had a box that the mix had an odd chemical/plastic tastes even after making the cookies. I bought another box a few weeks later from the same store and the cookies tasted tasted again like plastic. The tastes I think was coming off the plastic bag. I wrote them a latter saying I think something in your process has changed with your plastic bags or source. They sent me a couple free coupons and then weeks later a box with six individual boxes of their other mixes showed up. None of them had the "plastic" taste. Now nobody in town carries that mix anymore. Props to the company for righting a wrong.

Found a mouse turd in a raspberry toaster pastry, forever now called PoopTarts. Only eat the chocolate fudge ones now, at least I wont see it.

Worked in a KFC during my senior year of high school. Buster, the owner, told us the reason the previous owner sold out was due to a fried rodent being served.

Have found various things in packaged foods over the years, and always reported to the manufacturer the issue. They usually always respond with freebie coupons.

I love green onions; used to eat all or most of the tops also. One fine day I bit into the greens and an adventurous worm had eaten a hole in one of the green stems and crawled inside. Unfortunately for him, one bite and he became half a worm. I have been very circumspect in the way I eat green tops any more.

I also found a twisty tie in a package of smoked Polish sausage once upon a time.

You mean like a baked mouse - nicely sliced up in your loaf of bread. Weevils in your dry oatmeal. A big 'ol worm in an unopened Coke bottle. Bott fly larva in your just killed Caribou liver. Working for the Health Dept for 20 years - I've seen a lot.

However - I've never seen a human finger in my bowl of chili - yet.

I worked for the Health Department also...but didn't see much in that regard...although I was sitting as judge in a restaurant license revocation case when a huge cockroach crawled out of the neck of the defendant's dress...

Saw some things during my years in the grocery store though...

I once witnessed a mass "taking" of Caribou by the local indian tribe. It was north of Glennallen - on the old road into McKinley Park. They took everything when it was all said and done. There was NOTHING left on the ground as a witness to this event.

When they field dressed the animals - they would find Bott fly larva in about 25% of the animals. It's the size of the end of your thumb - it's a gooey yellow mass - they would pop these things in their mouth and eat them like candy. I never tried this delicacy. I just could not get the courage to pick one up with my fingers.
