JD 4300
1999 JD 790 FEL 4x4 synchro with ~630 hours $12500 - Pristine condition except for seat
2011 Massey 1532 FEL 4x4 hydro ~600 hours $12000 - beautiful cosmetically
2000 JD 4300 FEL 4x4 synchro with ~1500 hours $12900 - a little rough cosmetics, not horrible by any strech, but mechanically sound

I have a sweet spot for the JD 790 as I own one, but that Massey sounds very nice!

Being an owner of the 790,
1) do you use it for loading much?
a) Like moving gravel,
b) or helping grade a driveway?
2) Have you bushhogged on hilly terrain?

Thanks!!

Interesting.

If you combine the ages of the three tractors it totals 50 years.

If you total the engine hours on the three tractors it equals 2,730 hours.

2,730 / 50 = 54.6 engine hours per year.

Industry surveys indicate compact tractors used in residential and garden applications average 60 engine hours per year.

The Massey is the newest, has the fewest hours, hydrostatic transmission, and lowest cost. Kinda dorky looking though.

The 790 is a great tractor, bulletproof and works in a class above what it should. But the crash box transmission makes loader work a chore. For brush-hog work its a beast, and will power a 5ft mower with no issues.

That Massey sounds pretty sweet though. Its the newest by far, sounds like its been well taken care of and has the least hours. I'd go for that first.

What loader is on the 790? The 300 is nice, but it could even have the 70, which is a little small.

Yeah the Massey looks surprised!

It is a 70 on the 790.

The age of the 790 worries me, though the hours relieves me a bit.

The hydraulics of the massey also worry me, but since it's newer, leaning toward it.

So is it a no for the 4300 syncrho?

What worries you about the Massey hydraulics?
