Worked a few tractors when I was younger but not buying property where I will need one. 40 acres so small and flat with a pond. Hunting property with about 50/50 plots/grass and woods. What are the opinions for the LS brand? Seems like you get more for the money but I have heard bad reviews as well. What do tractor professionals think? Do you own one? Please do not bash the brand if you never had experience with one. I and asking for real feedback not hear say. The dealer I have close is very responsive and sells the brand well. I also have work associates who own LS and love them so that is confusing with the bad posts.

I cannot speak for LS, but they look capable. I can speak for my two Kubotas, very good machines. I am looking at another tractor and it will be a Kubota.

I did comparisons of new tractors when I was in the market, from what I had seen all new tractors were within 2-3 thousand dollars of one another in the end so since quite a bit of money is involved already I decided why gamble and purchased a Kubota. Since then Ive learned that my tlb turned out to be a few thousand dollars cheaper than some of the other brands. Not sure how that worked out.
Im trying not to give that dealer any more of my business and I had alot of issues with the backhoe and things not tightened but other than that I couldnt be any happier with the tractor.

No one I know with an LS or one of the NH tractors built by LS around here has anything bad to say about thier machine. I have looked at them a few times and was overal pleased with what I saw.
From everything I have seen they are a well built machine and in most cases it seems you can get a good bit of tractor for less money than some of the competition.
Be careful when shopping some of the dealers seemed to have a much higher asking price than others so call around and get prices from more than one place.

I have an LS and love it, although I haven't had it long. I turned over 50 hours last week. Regen is forecast to happen about every 50 hours, mine started at exactly 50.0 hours, and 10 minutes later was finished.
Prices can vary significantly by location and dealer, and it can be difficult to make comparisons based on what comes "standard". When I shopped, a similarly spec'd Kubota was $8k more than the LS. If it was ~$1k difference, I probably would have been willing to stomach it as the dealer is much closer and more established.

If there was time CUT and SCUT dealers were weeded out, I would think it would be now. I would speculate that there is less discretionary money in the market right now. If so, and a dealer is not on the ropes now, they should be there in 10 years.

I think it is a bit premature for some tractor dealers to "be on the ropes now".
There is always a lag time for such events.
Maybe wait until December, then add in car dealers too?

To reiterate from other, similar threads...It is a basic business world reality that consolidation is imminent...small fish get eaten by bigger fish...
IMO, If the compact tractor market has not peaked it will soon enough...perhaps the pandemic and the desire of people leaving urban areas for rural ones may extend the progression but it will still happen...it always has and will continue to do so...
The smaller manufacturers will not be able to compete with the three or four big fish in the industry...what will happen to the small fry's depends...some will be acquired and and possibly still supported by the acquirers and others may not...it's not unheard of for taken over companies to be liquidated and all remaining stock and parts sold for scrap etc...
IMO, Anyone purchasing a machine from any of the lessor manufacturers will be entering a situation where in a few years could find themselves owning something that is entirely unsupported where parts could be even less available (if at all) than the grey market machines etc...
