What was the sexiest tractor ever built?

Well, that's your opinion, but that doesn't make it fact.

I do not own any tractors with enclosed cabs either, but must say that what he states is fact. Just the other day my wife and I were talking about this very topic on a long car ride, and we came up with the same reasons for enclosed cabs.

Incidentally, we were talking about how a family friend who does custom tractor work, switched from a non-cab tractor, to cabbed tractor because he could get more work done in light rain. That was when we started listing other reasons for an enclosed cab...

There's the age old debate about what's better, large breasts or small breasts, perky or hanging. But at the end of the day, the answer best answer is your wife's. Because those are the ones you get to play with.

So the sexiest tractor for me is MY tractor, because it's the tractor I get to play with.

But that adage only applies if you have one tractor. What happens if you have multiple tractors?

For some of us, the waters get more muddied because our tractors are so radically different. Bulldozers, skidders, excavators, boom mowers, feller-bunchers, graders, etc...

Which one is "sexiest" could be hotly debated.

But just to be absolutely clear, I might have mistress-tractors, but I do not have any mistresses competing with my wife! I am one-woman-only kind of husband!

I'm splitting hairs a bit but you are confusing the 9N with it's successor the 8N, at least when talking about the Boomer. The 9N was originally manufactured in 1939 and was the first tractor to use Harry Ferguson's 3 PTH system. The 8N was first made in 1947, had a bit more HP and running boards rather than foot pegs. There also was a 2N, first made in 1942.

When NH came out with the "Boomer" 8N there were a lot of people who considered it sacrilege. Somewhere on these TBN pages are my exact thoughts on the subject. :D
Apparently I wasn't the only one who felt that way, because they only made the interloper for a couple of years. To me it was like Chevrolet resurrecting the "Nova" or Chrysler with their "Challenger."

No, you are not splitting hairs at all, you are absolutely correct, and thanks for setting me strait.

I was thinking about the 8N and not the 9N.

The confusion came in because we never had the Ford N versions, we had a Ford 900 which is where my confusion stemmed from. Thank you for setting me straight.

Equally, it could be argued the Caterpillar 30 was superior to the Caterpillar 60, but I like both.

Yes, but which one did a better job paying homage to the past?

I dont have a great number of posts on TBN, so Im not exactly a veteran of the site, but this post really has me scratching my head. I would assume theres probably a small but growing number of women reading these threads. I bet we would all welcome that. I have to wonder what theyd think about things after reading this post?
I see threads get locked for even mentioning the presidents name or anything even slightly political and thats the rules- NO POLITICS. I broke that rule a few times and I stopped doing it. Should have read the rules better.

But after seeing a comment like that, should I suggest to my daughter to NOT read TBN? It seems a little heavy on the locker room style of conversation for most of the female readers on TBN?

Agreed. Thanks for saying that.

In my stable, the Mechron 2200 is the sexiest AND the fastest 'tractor'. (20mph when roading :cool2:) Of course I had to get the color right.

Love the 'full cab' that top and windshield comprise. ('full dress' motorbike means two fenders) Here's a pic of another member's with better mirrors but the same otherwise.

Now back to OP's iron. :p

Hi there. I have never thought about it. Interesting thread :)

We had a 1963 John Deere 3010. It was bulletproof. How did John Deere pull off such a product transformation/advancement going from the 2 cylinder X30 series to the 4 and 6 cylinder XX10 series with their more refined design, engines, hydraulics, etc.?

That's what I meant about modernizing tractors. What a change!!

My vote as well! I am very fond of the Red machines like the Super M and IH 1586 mainly because I grew up running these machines. However, the JD 4020 was the tractor that I loved the most! It was the tractor that I jumped at every opportunity to drive! It was like driving Cadillac compared to the Red machines I drove everyday.

My best friends Dad loved me because he knew he could always count on free help if he offered to let me run the 4020. Plus there was always a great meal involved at the end of each work day! That 4020 is still working on the farm today!

First time I ran a tractor with a radio was a 4020 with a tractor radio bolted to the fender. The neighbors could hear the radio better than the operator!! :)
