Did you watch the video of them towing that trailer? The rear end of the trailer was collapsed and on the pavement, tearing it into pieces as they drove, creating a cloud of dust. That was until they tore up the truck.

Nothing that can't be fixed. And when you have no or limited funds, . . . . .

A driveshaft replacement and the truck is good to go, far from being ruined!

They had the rear of the trailer supported with some big pieces of wood not just dragging it on the ground, I also didn’t see anything falling off the trailer just smoke from the wood as one would expect.

So for a poor person getting a fix me up trailer most likely for free I would say providing they didn’t break anything else and got it to its new destination they still came out ahead.

If the transport of the trailer was as traumatic to the driveshaft as to destroy it, what else did it destroy on that truck?
Engine? Trans? Rear end? Suspension?

It was a POS in the first place, it surely did not improve the life of that POS

It's rather obvious that some posters on here have never had to do, if they wanted it.
As far as the posts about the old almost dead trailer, it looks like the roof was intact and it would shelter some one from the weather,
definitely better then lying on the ground under the skies in the weather.
When you don't have 2 nickles to rub together you can and will make do,
or you can cry and whine and expect someone else to take care of you.
That's my take from the video having no actual knowledge of the circumstances.

While watching the video, it appears that the trailer is in rough shape, especially after transport, but do we really know that it was going to be used as a residence again? Maybe the PO needed it out to make room for a new house/trailer etc and needed it gone, friends help friends no matter what. Maybe the guy hauling was going to demo the trailer, salvage and sell the copper and wire, use the appliances, gut it and burn the remaining wood. Just because it's not what you or I would do, and we read some comment at the end doesn't mean we know the entire story. Part of the fun of this thread is trying to figure out the thought process of the people involved.
