UPdate: Still haven't heard anything from seller....further convincing me that it's a scammer. I might be heading north and go through Lexington, KY so decided to look there.... low & behold, the same "local" welder was posted in Lexington as well....same everything, price, pictures....you get the idea.
As it happens, my brother in law has "stuff".... so I emailed him other day about maybe helping me weld this broken bolt so it can be removed.
Spoke to him on phone yesterday.... "do I still need help"... "be happy to help"....
I asked him if it was 110V or 220. I can do either, just need to put parts together. I have 30-40 feet of 8-3 WG wire that I used to supply my remote panel in garage. My brother in law (who's an electrician) has hooked the wire up for single use before.... so I was just being curious what it needed.
His answer was neither.... it was diesel.
HUH???
It's not one of those portable welders.... it's on a trailer and has its own diesel engine.
Seems he has a "real" welder. Said he might try to come by sometime this week or upcoming weekend.
