Agree. But one size does not fit all. Politicians make blanket rules that may be applicable for congested cities but are silly in most areas of a state. I posted this in one the early Covid threads....it was illegal for me to drive my tractor 2.5 miles to help out my neighbor....there are only three other residences on the road...with four adults and two children. Everyone with any common sense knows that is either silly or stupid.

How would you expect your state, county, township/city government to coordinate that at such a local level? By expecting people to do the right thing?

Back to the first post in this thread, for Marion County. I thought I'd check to see how they were doing and found this news article from a few days ago. While most of Central Florida sees decline in COVID-19 cases, Sumter and Marion counties see uptick
While most of the counties have seen improvement, Marion is slipping backwards slightly. I also see where the Sheriff has backed off on his "no masks allowed" mandate.

You keep trying to push this narrative that somehow Sweden got it right, when apples to apples comparison of Sweden to its neighboring Nordic countries shows they got it devastatingly wrong. Look at the population density of the UK vs Sweden. 275/km^2 versus 25/km^2.

Big difference, which means a big difference in contacts, how people interact, etc.

Sweden is down to 3 Covid related deaths per day with a population of 10,000,000.

That doesn't even show on the chart. If a vaccine were that effective, we would all be claiming it a miracle drug.

Of Course, Spain with 50 deaths and a population of 47,000,000 is fairing quite well also.

Seasonal flu basically. A bad one, but it's following the pattern.
Isolation of the population has no future except to prolong the agony.

First, these are IN ADDITION TO the seasonal flu. So add the numbers together, not side-by-side.
Second, the lasting after effects of this is way worse than the flu.

People that keep saying it's the same as the seasonal flu are spreading false information. There are less of you each month as you get educated it seems, but you persist.

To people that say isolation of the population is just prolonging the inevitable, I say go volunteer at a service agency for a while in a populated area so you catch it and get it over with, then let us know how that goes. In other words, put up or... ;)

What is your position on persons who have or had the virus with no or mild symptoms?

False information? Something different for them than any of the other flus that could have killed them? And then the children. A huge population that seems little troubled.
Anecdotal articles are often seen, but if those lasting difficulties were common, such information would show up on the CDC dashboard. And it does not, so .. what to make of an insignificant anecdote? It's bad if it happens to you! so is diabetes.

Not rocket surgery. Apply the most draconian restrictions to densely populated areas. Relax them in the boonies. States know the population density in every county and city. BTW our governor restricted travel at one point...that helps the concept of flexible restrictions. Of course those rules did not apply to the governor’s family...just the peasants.
