Well, the 40v chainsaw I raved about in another thread failed after its fourth charge. Looks like $165 wasted.

I will stop in and see if they will do anything for me. If not, I am sold on the usefulness of a battery operated saw, and will buy a better quality unit.

If it's still in warranty they will replace it no problem. I some how bent the extension piece on my battery pole saw and called customer service to try to buy replacement part and they said to just take it back to store and they would replace it.I did, they did and sold me extended warranty for $6. I've used the saws a bunch and no problems.
For those saying they prefer gas, just wait a few more years and Mother Nature may well change your mind. I've given all my gas saws away.

Not a DJI fan because of the mandatory built into the brain box Geofencing. I much prefer it being voluntary. We have enough imposed rules today, don't need more. Having said that I do have one DJI collaborated product, I have a Tello pocket drone but the drone was manufactured by Ryze, not DJI and Ryze uses DJI's software minus the geofencing.

Don't want to be getting your Mavic wet, especially the motors. They are not moisture proof.
I know... thread drift but I can't let it go yet...

The geofencing hasn't been an issue for me and since I fly near a few restricted areas I consider it insurance. However you do know that you can unlock your geofencing on the DJI and it is not difficult?

I also like the idea of the geofencing so as to force drones that are flying in a restricted zone to be identified. Plenty of legal and safe places to fly where geofencing doesn't interfere. Certain safety rules should not be voluntary when it is primarily the safety of others that is in play. This is one of them.

Just wait until Amazon Prime Air is buzzing all around delivering packages!

Probably only have a few years left anyway so I don't see any impact at all. Not about to give mine away but I'lll sell them for sure. Especially my Stihl 075. that baby is worth serious jack.

Not sure what you mean by that.
Both have their place. For serious work (cutting down trees, cutting firewood, etc.) it's gas all the way, but for small jobs a battery saw does the job just fine.

Honestly, IMHO the more you pay for something at HF, the less value it seems to have.

I've experienced some of that. My, what, $12-14 on-sale heavy duty angle grinder has been SUPER, but my much more expensive cutting wheel is lame in the extreme. I also like the HF cutting disks for the angle grinder because they have a small kerf.

Don't waste your hard earned cash on the new HF line of clothes . There athletic supporters aka jock strap supposed to hold two nuts but in actuality only holds one . Of course made in china ! Only item in store with a no return policy .

The $20 Click Type torque wrenches that were perpetually on coupons for $9.99 are now on clearance for $11.99. How does that work? And why on clearance:? What are they replacing them with?

What I mean is that for many of us health issues limit our ability to do what we once found easy and enjoyable. I used to love to cut and split wood but just can't get it done any more. I realize that there are some guys that can go longer than others but for a lot of us Mother Nature slows us down dramatically due to physical limitations.
