I'm back with another post on this tractor. The #3 cylinder is dead. Had a guy out here who says the injector pump is not supplying enough pressure to operate the injector on that cylinder. He left the line loose as the engine ran hoping it was air bound. No luck. What would cause this? Also, when I try to look up parts for this section of the pump, I can't find any parts for it. Any help would be appreciated.

How does he know that? Tested the injector?

Or is it no delivery of fuel to the injector?

Repairing injection pumps are not DIY jobs, so there are no market for inner parts to the general public.

Pics below is the innards of a ford 1700, two cylinder injector pump, real difficult to source parts. Add another lobe for a 3 cylinder diesel and there are bunch more parts in addition of what you see in the pic. Need to call around and get a flavor of local guys who work on them.

When you barely crack the line at the #1 and #2 injectors, fuel comes out like it's foaming from the pressure and the engine will die if you don't tighten it back up immediately. On the #3, with the line almost ready to take off, fuel just barely dribbles out with no change to the engine. This problem happened suddenly while mowing. I first thought the filter plugged up. So the New Holland dealer can get the parts? They can't get it in for at least 3 weeks so I'm trying to get an idea of the cost of repair.

Have you reached out to "thepumpguysc" to see if they can help sooner?

If you search under their user name you can find a link to send them a email.

No I haven't. My friend thinks he can fix the problem if it's what he "thinks" it is. But if we can't find parts, I don't want him to attempt to repair it.

I hope your friend is a Diesel injection pump specialist who works or has worked on them for living?

Here's a link to a website that has a pic of the injector system. New Holland TC33D Fuel System 9E1 INJECTION PUMP He mentioned a part that he thought was bad that's under part #1A. Some sort of valve he thought was messed up. He does have a business and works on small engines that includes diesel mowers. But he's more tied up than the New Holland dealer.
