What's the most you have spent ($$$$) (one visit) at the vet for your pet ?

This could be interesting. Honestly can't remember but it must have been in the low 3 figures or I would have remembered. I do remember my ex-wife taking my daughter's pet mini flop rabbit or whatever it was called, to the vet because she (or he) kept falling/flipping over and then righting itself. Turned out to be some kind of inner ear infection and it needed treatment. I got a call while at work with what it was going to cost. I was thinking dinner! That did not go over well.

I took my Cocker Spaniel to the vet this summer. He got a rash in the "nether region" after being shaved too close. The dog groomer will NEVER make that mistake again. $50 haircut - $145 vet bill.

Probably A$260.00. That was for spaying my cat + ID chip. Initial shots (3 in all) + worming pill around A$90 each. Annual shot/worm pill is A$95.

Not bad for a healthy kitten that was dumped in the forest and showed up at my back door one cold July night.

(When God drops a kitten [or puppy] you have to pick it up. :))

Not me but, there seems to be a hip surgery required epidemic. I can honestly name at least 5 friends who have had the ACL I think repaired. I’ve heard so much about it I can tell you there are a couple ways to do it and the benefits and downsides of each.

Average cost appx. $4500.00. I’m told the first thing the vet tells them is, you will be back in 6 months to do the other knee and, in a couple cases they had to go back.

That was suburbia, now I live in the country and when I tell them boys $4500.00 for a dog you can imagine the comments.

Each to his own.

It’s not uncommon.

I just posted about our dogs in another thread a minute ago. But our first Doberman was a chronic visitor to the vet ... We got him in 1995 and he lived to be 13.. he was our child...and by the time he had passed my vet bills were north of 70k..I stopped adding.
I would do it again today as well. Still miss him

Our Boston puppy had to have an eye removed. $1,100.00. It was worth it.

ACL's and active dogs go hand in hand; sometimes it's hereditary, but both of my dogs injured theirs while in the woods. 2 years ago we were out, and had to crawl over a blowdown.
Ruger was right beside me, but as he jumped both hind legs caught and he was caught hanging there. Before I even got him down I was thinking "This looks like a $2000 bill..."
It cost me a little more than that from start to finish. My vet said he'd never seen so much damage, he had to completely rebuild both knees. I figured he'd be a couch potato. However, although he can't jump and doesn't swim much he's recovered enough so that he goes in the woods with me unless it's going to be a long day.

This is the log we were crossing.
