The Guberment! I can't for the life of me undertand who is smoking all this dope. Must be a pretty stoned country!

Don't be silly. It's not the government's fault. It's yours. :D

Dam straight it is

So both of yall are of the mind that if you don't continuously buy up the tracts next to you that any undesirable activity that winds up happening across the fence is your fault. Ok. I get it. :confused2:

Georgia has been squabbling over the state line boundary with Tennessee for over two hundred years. It seems the original surveyors missed the 35th parallel by up to a mile claiming they had outdated equipment. This would put part of the Tennessee River and the city of Chattanooga in Georgia. Well Georgia is squabbling, Tennessee is fine with things as they are.

I used to watch a tv show called, How The States Got Their Shapes

I never paid any attention but when they point out a pan handle section of a one state that sticks directly into another state, there is always a good story and guess what, usually involves $.

No. I won’t speak for my friend ovrsd, but speaking for myself, if youre sensitive to a property next to you and you dont buy it when its 100k and now worth 800k, shame on you. You could buy it and rent it and make all your money back, but have a great deal of control over it.
OR have the temerity to tell the neighbor to do a better job maintaining his adjoining property border.

I have a 600’ border with my neighbor. 12 years ago, when I bought my property, it was a border of stickers, invasive autumn olive and a nice mix of trash. I went to my neighbor and struck a deal. I proposed a vision of a beautiful property border between us. I offered to supply all the labor and he supply the planting materials.
I bulldozed all the overgrowth and burned it. Giving him the choice of planting materials, I fixed his split rail fence and planted 8 large trees with holly bushes in between them. I assured him I would mow between them and keep it nice.
That was 10 year as ago and it still looks good and we are both happy we did it.

Well, it's certainly not the governments fault. So if those are the two choices, yes it's my fault.

I say the (Liberal/Communist) Government, because they legalized POT. And for what it's worth, opened the floodgates of immigration.

Who knew property prices would go crazy? Back then I couldn't give farm land away! And I had 100 acres to look after. 35 more seemed more than I wanted to handle.

I have no opposition to legalizing pot, should have done it years ago. The other issue bothers me.

If my goal was to accumulate wealth thru my life I would have bought every acre I could scratch up financing to buy. The farm I own would quickly sell for $3,500 an acre today. My Dad bought it in 1948 for $75.95 per acre. Took him 20 years of hard work to pay for it. So with that equation, land is still cheap. An annual payment of $30K would pay for it again in 20 years.

Anything that comes up for sale bordering my 95 acres (used to be 75 original) I buy. Already have an agreement with an older, single guy for his 50 acres when he's ready to sell.
