I have learned several life lessons in my many years, so let me get serious for a minute and post one of the first things I learned that has helped me through life.

1. Not matter your circumstances, no matter how badly you've been mistreated, no matter who is to blame for any misfortune you may be experiencing, forget about who is to blame and look in the mirror and repeat after me: "Who I am, what I am and where I am is my problem and my problem alone and it's up to me to deal with it and go on down the road".

A shorter version of what I believe is the same mindset:

"If I'm not the problem, there is no solution."

That does not necessarily mean the problem/situation is even my fault, but it is still my responsibility to move on from it.

All these things are quite simplistic. In reality, the TRUTH usually lies in between somewhere. Can't tell someone that is wrongly convicted in jail to just move on, it's your fault. Or, the path we have so far chosen will often dictate our future and we can't simply pretend the past doesn't exist and have consequences.
