3 point hitch quick connect

I have the HF hitch and have used it fir 7 years. Mine was 79.00 with the 20% off cupon. Most of my attachements are from the 60's or before and all I had to do modify the top link hookup. I had the same problem as was mentioned with the bolts on th adjustable top hookon the hitch si I extended this hook out farther by drill 2 holes in a 1 inch square piece and welding it to the hook. Works like achamp now. No matter what buy you will have to modify the attachment shmehow

After reading many threads, I decided a QH was not a good fit as I have older implements that would have to be modified and I am not good at that. Then, with a rear snow blower, I have enough trouble hooking up the PTO without more stuff in the way.

I nearly pulled the trigger on a Pat's QH when there was sale a while ago on this forum. It seems like a decent compromise but waited too long. It is not as easy as the "real" QH's but more forgiving wrt what will fit and does not add more stuff at the back to deal with.

I am now looking at this:

Great post. I wish i had seen those before i bought a QH, i might have went that route. But i ended up with a Land Pride QH05 for our BX23s for $230 OTD this past year after an exhaustive research for 2yrs. Luckily, every implement i have, fits perfectly fine with the LP QH05. But this type system you posted, sure is alot cheaper dollar wise. Surely not as convenient as what i have right now, but this is likely a great set up for those that dont have the extra money to throw at a QH to attach implements. I looked at the HF QH a few times, watched some YT reviews, i walked away. I dont want to buy something that i have to modify.

I`m plenty happy with our LP QH, i dont have to get off the tractor to hook or unhook anything, unless i have to hook up a PTO shaft, but you`ll have to do that with no matter what system you have. So far, i dont own anything that has a PTO shaft to hook up, yet. Time is money for me, the LP QH saves me time, big time. It all comes down to what works best for each person - everybody`s needs are always going to be different. For me, due to spine damage like i have, the less i have to do, the better it is for me. Climbing on/off/on the tractor is hard on me. Then when having to muscle around implements on/off/on/off, what i have now is a god send, for me. Yes, i paid a bit more to have a QH option, but my body thanks me everytime i change implements. Getting old, having bad spine injuries, its not for sissies, thats for sure.

One thing i would like to add, those PAT`s style systems, you still have to align the arms to the implement. You`ll still have to attach the top link. A QH is the best way to go, if it will fit all your implements.

I'm another satisfied Pat's Quick Hitch user. I had to modify no equipment. I did need a longer drive shaft for my mower but I learned the old one had been too short all along and probably unsafe when the dealer installed it. I slso needed a longer top link as Pat's sets the whole implement back about two inches. The angle of the hitch on the lift arms may need adjusted a bit for different width implements to keep everything square but that's quick and easy to do.

I have a Pat's and find it much easier to use than just the lift arms. I did find that the height of the outside end of the hook was too tall for my King Cutter mower. There is a box frame just below the pins on the outside, so I flipped the pins inside the upright frame and it works that way. Because of that experience however, I look at the Carter and wonder how often that would happen with this one. It sits on top of the arms and must require 6-7 inches of clearance. The Pat's might require more like 4-5 inches. Check out your implements before you buy.

Those who want a QH for a BX series tractor, make sure you are checking the weight of these QH`s. Some are pretty heavy.
Weight of things you bolt on and hook up to the BX needs to be considered and factored in.

The harbor freight QH (for instance) weighs 62lbs. The Land Pride QH05 weighs 37lbs.
That don`t seem like much of a difference, but it is when you have a tiny tractor that is already limited.

My dealer also threw in the floating top link kit, he says they come with the QH05 automatically, some dealers call it an optional item and charge you extra for it.

Tried the Pat’s on my BX, still had to get off tractor to adjust width (even with the bar)). When I got my L3901, I went for the LP QH15. It just works, no modifications (has adjustable top hook). After the time saved, I bought another LP QH15 for my MX5200 (sometimes using both tractors at one time-with wife). Only issue is that you have to get the bushings to convert (CAT1 to CAT3). Once I got them all situated, It takes a hot minute to hook up any of my implements to either tractor. My time is worth the expense and aggravation.

And just to add....I also use the PTO quick connect from https://tractorptolink.com/. Saves my sanity from erosion.

Love the forum, lover the ideas here.

Thanks,
Steve

Steve, i agree with you 100% about the Pat`s design. I looked into them and said NOPE, more hassle than its worth, to me, for something that is almost aready $200 and i still have to get off the tractor to set them up! I`ve seen a couple people that used in my neighborhood, the Pat`s design didnt seem to save that much time due to having to get off the tractor and align things up just to hook up implements. That`s when i said to heck with it and just bought the Land Pride QH for our BX23s for $230 OTD and needed nothing extra, no messing around to make it work. Seconds to change out implements with the LP QH, and without ever getting off the tractor. (who wouldn`t love that!) I dont have any rear PTO driven implements, so this LP QH works super great and super quick. I couldn`t be happier. I`m much older now and i just can`t fight with heavy things like i use to when i was alot younger. Even my wife can change out all of our implements on the fly with it. And thats sayin somethin right there when SHE can do it by herself without, me...lol. Dont tell her i said that though, because she`d drag me around the property with the tractor if she knew i said that...lol.

Pat's doesn't save me getting off the tractor to connect. It does save me time and makes it a one man job. I wouldn't trade it.

That said, the 1-piece QAs let you adjust your stabilizers 'once and done'. With chain/turnbuckle stabilizers to futz with that can be a real time-saver.

I have one tractor with extendable draft arms and the square tubular stabs with pins. That's still my favorite setup.

btw, Being able to leave whichever attachment on each tractor and hopping from seat to seat is almost cheating. :D
