Pocket knives.

I carried a pocket knife from the time I was big enough to whittle, until late in my career when I didn't want a bulge in my suit pants pocket, but even then I carried a small "Old Timer". They are (or were at the time) made from carbon steel, and you could put an edge on them that you could shave with, if you had the patience. I was fascinated by pocket knives, and manage to collect quite a few over the years. I ended up giving my high end knives (Hen and chicks; Browning, etc.) to my sons in law and my Grandsons. Still have a few, including my JD collector's knife.

I am often lose pocket knives, so I have gotten to try several different brands. The latest is Case, stainless steel. They have worked well for me.
+1 on the Case knives. I have a couple of them. I have never had any problems with them.

Kershaw folder, GREAT knife, can be opened with one hand/finger and it's also made in USA...

It has a great blade too, stays sharp even with the abuse I give it...

SR

Yep, Kershaw are great knives too.

The black nylon belt holder from Maglight flashlights that we all throw out? Makes a great small knife holder.

One day when I had a small lock blade clipped on the belt clip....I jumped in my truck and felt something sharp dig dig in my side, it was the lock blade fully opened pointing up in my gut:shocked:......the small maglight nylon holder has been its home hanging on my belt since, never lost it and it never stabbed me (yet;))

My daily knife choice is a Buck 297 assist opening. It's simple, effective, thin, and has a pocket clip. I have collected several over the years.
Other knives I use frequently are several types of Swiss Army, Leatherman multi tools, and an old USMC KBar.
