Tires Frozen tanks frozen tires?

Your tires aren't going to freeze solid overnight, especially if you can put it undercover. Looking at the forecast, I believe that it's going to warm up tomorrow.

Tires freezing isn't a huge deal, just don't move it until they thaw. Our temps and humidity are similar to Houston and I have never treated diesel.

The diesel will be fine. Let us know how the tires do.

Western NY, you probably have, like here a different blend of Diesel for Winter. In Eastern Ontario, I've been told gas stations switch blend in November. Texas, I would doubt they do.

Ok we usually do not get these kind of temperature (10) in the Houston, TX area. My tractor has both rear tires filled with water, No antifreeze. What can I expect except the obvious?

I have two 500 gallon tanks, one red diesel the other unleaded- same question? My stuff is about a 100 miles north of me so Im not there at the moment.

If your tires are "filled" as recommended to a max. of 3/4 full, you should have absolutely zero tire issues.
Now,....driving on those water filled tires/wheels, if they were solidly frozen, would be a big problem!

I don't know why you shouldn't drive on the frozen tires but don't think they are going to thaw in a day or two unless you have a method of heating them. Snow can stay in our yard for a month of above freezing temperatures and ice will last much longer if not exposed to direct sunshine.

I don't believe that they'll freeze much-if at all- in the time frame that they are experiencing cold weather.

Come to Maine-I actually had my transmission freeze up solid lol. You will be alright-even if your tires freeze up it will still have enough expansion capacity thanks to the rubber to accommodate the expanding ice.

If you drive on frozen tires the ice inside will break and the knife edges on the ice will cut the tires. I know, I have the T-shirt.

Per the www Diesel, if no anti-jel is used, will start waxing up at 32F. Adding antigel will return the fuel to a useable condition when it has had time to dissolve through the tank. Problem there, with untreated fuel in the machine is that the fuel lines and all other fuel related parts on the tractor need to be flushed or warmed up over 32 to dissolve the wax and make the trapped fuel burnable. When it warms back up it clears back up.

Buickanddeere, on another site mentioned tearing up tires that had an inadequate amount of antifreeze. I have one tractor with 6 gallons of AF per 50 gallons of water. Obviously at my -7 last night and the preceding and temps to come the tires are frozen. Tires are just above the axle in fill amount so there is plenty of room for the water to expand. I dropped the tire pressure to a slight bulge in the tire at the bottom at about 10 psig giving room for the water to expand the sidewall without bursting. I will not move it till it has warmed up sufficiently for me to know that any ice has melted. I think his comment had to do with folks that needed to use their tractors and in doing such the ice cut up the tire as the tire rolled. Your gasoline if fine.
