Are Harbor Freight discount coupons gone for good?

I have to defend their mixers a little bit. I bought one like the one pictured in 2004. Jobs done: Footings for a 1500 sq ft' house;
Footings for a 2 car garage;
Footings for a 2400' barn;
200' of 4' sidewalk;
An 8'x8' storm shelter with 8" roof, floor and walls;
Garage floor 26' x 24' plus 3' by 8" footings.
Footings for a fair sized bridge a couple years ago;

Never a problem except the drum base was cracking where bolted to the base and needed to be rewelded. Just keeps on spinning.

I just needed a POC mixer on the cheap but never expected this one to last more than house footings. but it exceeded my expectations. My wife just makes sure it stays clean.

For all that concrete mixed since beginning in 2004, with that small mixer, I suspect you may actually still be mixing today.

I have avoided the SAMS and COSTCO memberships most of my life and will never pay a fee to get spammed in exchange for a small discount. Walgreens is another place that pisses me off with their membership offerings. They have membership prices posted prominent on everything in the store. Get to the checkout and it cost more than the posted price if you didn't read the fine print.

Many Many years ago I would buy a SAMs membership on any year I needed tires. Their meager $30 fee back then along with the savings on Michelin tires more than made up for the savings over the tire store price.

That's a big peeve of mine...stores that require you to have one of their loyalty cards in order to get advertised sale prices. A lot of stores do that...Rite Aid as well as a lot of supermarkets.

Years ago I had a Sam's club membership back when it was $25/yr or so (mine was thru my employer). I liked their Members Mark jeans, and there were good deals on other stuff I used, though I'm not sure I actually saved enough to justify the membership. Now the nearest Sam's is close to 2 hours away and it's not worth it...there is a BJ's a little closer, but they don't have the selection Sam's does (or did...it's been probably 15 years). No Cosco's around here as far as I know.

We have a very close COSTCO here in Florida, but up North nearest COSTCO is 120 miles away.
Nearest BJ's here in FL. is 13 miles, and nearest BJ's in MA is 26 miles.
Needless to say the only logical choice is BJ's, so that is what we do.
Even for two people I feel it is worth the fee.
For meat/chicken/paper goods/vitamins/cheese/water/coffee/propane/gasoline, etc.

Amazon Prime is different in that you get set services for a fee. I am not saying the services are worth the fee but the consumer knows what they are getting. With the HF junk tool club the consumer is hoping there will be some future deal that will pay for the membership fee. They do not reveal what the deals will be for the next year.

I have the HF cement mixer. Paint fell off after a couple of years, but it has mixed many batches of concrete for me, family members and friends. I'd buy it again no problem.

Amazon has 148 million Prime members. At $100 each, that's just shy of $15 billion in membership fees each year. I use Amazon for most everything except food. Walmart, Home Depot and Lowes are all 30 minutes away. I ordered parts for our vacuum yesterday, they arrived today. I bought their stock when is was $300 in Jan 2015. $3,300 now.

Years ago I read the plan was to break even on products sold and the membership fees are gravy.

I do remember the cost co guys responce to the question....why don't you charge more for you hot dog and drink combo?

He said, we charge $4.00?. Most retailers are trying to figure out how to get $5.00 for the same thing. His goal was to sell it at $3.00.

That is a unique approach!

I took my coupon into HF for the cement mixer. devils in the details.......coupon is 9 months old. Now I feel like i'm gettin stroked!

I did buy the Pittsburg diesel transport pump. I think it was about $125.00.

It works great! Really fast! I hope it lasts.

A problem I have is the printing for the dates and all the exclusions are so small I can't read them so I just don't go there much any more.

I have also wondered about the HP coupons. That is what brought me in the store, (and the free bees). I haven't been in there in months. Ebay is the best deal going.
