Hello. I know this has been talked about on here before but here goes. Anyone have a clue as to get this off without cutting it off? I have pushed, pulled, read, watched, basically looked everywhere. I can’t get it off.

flat blade screwdriver to push in the white plastic tabs?

I'll agree with the screwdriver pressure assessment. You'll have to push both sides in at the same time so it will probably take s second person. Those things arre NOT easy to pull back by design.

Had one that was 3 little screws. And the collar rotated so re-aligning the holes back up was super duper fun..

That is the truth. This one has baffled me. About to go back out and try it again. Thank you.

The good (??) news is that it will probably fall apart on its own after a few uses.

Thank you. I needed good news after fighting this. Back to it in the morning. It is coming off!

I know you are supposed to maintain the guards for safety, but as dangerous as pto shafts are I think the best rule is to not get around it while it's running. I also don't understand why a replacement guard costs over $100, they want people to use them they need to make them reasonably priced

I’ve seen them on their website but can’t find anyplace to actually buy them. Any leads?

I have always heard those things called "Bippie's" and they can be a pain to deal with, as you have found. I understand their use, but when a rotary cutter doesn't have one, I don't go looking for one to put on it!
A sawzall might a little bit of mistake, but I bet you have thought about it a time or two!!
Hope you get it off soon!

If you want to keep the guard on it swap it out for one from Bare-Co.
Bare Co USA - PTO Select Safety Guards

these guards are easy to release and retract and reconnect
I have three of these safety guards and love them. They make it so easy to connect to the tractor. Flip up the levers, slide the cover back, put on the pto shaft, slide the cover back into place and snap the levers back in place.

So how much did these covers cost? I like the idea of not having to fight the cover being in the way while trying to hook up PTO shaft, they are a pain enough.
