So what's the earth's temperature supposed to be?
68 degrees in summer. 15-20 degrees in winter, with a foot of snow every week from December 15 to Feb 8, then a few inches every Friday night until spring. Of course we need a few cold nights first to freeze the lakes and put frost in the ground.

I know, just couldn't resist asking.

Well, you already got an answer

That's her 4th post now, thanks!

Average temperatures across the Earth in degrees Kelvin, showing how temperatures at different latitudes can vary drastically. NASA has reported that the average temperature of the earth is 15°C. However, extreme temperatures are still possible on Earth.

Right now, the warming influence is literally a matter of life and death. It keeps the average surface temperature of the planet at 288 degrees kelvin (15 degrees Celsius or 59 degrees Fahrenheit).

Do you have some more questions? I am looking forward to answering!

Tell us a little about yourself...what are your qualifications and experience that makes your input credible? What makes you think that we can do anything to affect global warming one way or the other? What is your motivation?

People, I hope you understand how serious the topic of global warming is? Just reading this thread, I saw not many posts on how to solve this problem and why it appeared at all. I have been studying this issue for many years because I believe that it is very important for the future of our children in the first place.
Global Warming is the gradual increase of the overall temperature of the Earth's atmosphere that is starting to become dangerous that if we don’t move now, there’s no tomorrow to look forward to. Due to data being shown, we should start implementing rules and we should start uniting to prevent it from becoming more dangerous, we should start moving now before it is too late to save Earth and the future generation. There are still options and solutions to survive this adversity.

Ya its serious, but you are on the wrong forums if you want to have any impact.

The vast majority of GHGs come from URBAN AREAS. Most of us are rural (the population of my town is 800 people). So go talk to city folk and convince them to get rid of their GHGs first. Once you have them taken care of check back with us.

That didn't answer the question, what is the earth's temperature SUPPOSED to be? If its cyclic then what part of the cycle are we currently on?
And at what temperature and how quickly would it take for humans to cease to survive?
If you're going to preach doom and gloom you need to substantiate your claims with realistic data.

If we are causing temps to increase, don't you think that's the planet's way of cleaning itself? Any discussion like you are trying to start (which is against this forum's "no politics" rules BTW) needs to begin with the fact that the planet's population has increased 7 fold in the last 100 years.
