I thought of that for one I have at home. Not sure it's big enough though. I guess it's around 30in dia.
I used to do some carving. Small figurines. Thought of cutting it high and carving a bear or something into it.
It's a standing dead tree so may not be able to carve it. Really just a 60 foot pole that I hope doesn't fall on the neighbor's shed before
the guy comes to take it down, and a couple others too close to the house for my ability.

Just rambling while I'm thinking of it, there are 2 HUGE pines he's going to take down for me.
One is about 8 feet from the house, the other about 40 ft from the house and 10ft from my well head, but I estimate it stands
about 70 feet and huge girth, so again, beyond my nerve.
He's got climbing gear and will take it down for the wood for himself but taking it down in sections defeats his purpose of getting
extra long beams so I don't know what he has in mind. Either way, a fair trade for me.
Never seen it but I think he has an Alaskan(?) mill. The one where you attach a chainsaw, and he can do really long beams.

30 inch dia is tons big enough for a chair!! Heck, 15-16" and up would work fine. Most bar stools are only 13" or so dia. Cut them out in a good spot in the woods and come season, put on your tree stump camo and have at it!

Trying to source mill blades from somewhere I don't have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for delivery. That will likely make completing
my project impossible before the snow flies.

I found 2 places. One has 5 blades for $250 + tax. (I know, right?)
The other has 3 blades for $196 + tax, and they say free shipping in Canada, but then say they don't ship to my location.

Anyway, a Question that applies no matter which source I choose (the math says the 5 blades are better value but the cheap in me says
there's almost $100 difference in initial cost. It sucks being naturally cheap - you constantly compare until your item is sold out)

I had asked a couple days ago if I measure from the valley of the tooth for width, or from the tip/peak of the tooth.
The blades I sourced are 1 1/4 width which is from the valley on mine.
Another website says measure from the tip which would be 1 1/2 on mine. But neither of the sources have an option for 1 1/2" depth blades.
Other places do but the blades are wildly more expensive.

So my question.... If the blade is a 1 1/4" will it have a negative effect on anything?
My logic says the teeth may ride on the rubber of the drive wheels and may affect the setting of the teeth.
Or will the teeth still be clear of contact with the drive wheels and it will be ok to use the 1 1/4" blades.

This picture of left and right drives kind of supports my second scenario. It's only a 1/4" difference.

Opinions please

You may be looking at grease spatter on the boom cylinders if that's what you mean.
